Can see why so many of my favorite rock artists cite Lou Reed as a major influence
Sonically interesting and musically varied, but not my cup of tea. A few dope baselines and I do like “You can call me Al”, I get why that’s the only one I’ve heard of before listening to this album
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I hear Childing Gambino, Sleigh Bells, Lenny Kravitz, and so many other of my favorite artists on this album. Iconic and influential 🤘🏼
Didn’t understand many words but the vibes are impeccable. Title track is super chill
I actually hear a little TSR-era Tame Impala on the intro of Funeral for a Friend lol Great album overall, no notes
Banger after banger after banger, literally belt this shit out every time I listen.
Actually one of my favorite albums ever, definitely top 10 if not top 5. The harmonies, wailing guitar riffs, heavy bass lines, seething anger and heroin energy have seeped into my soul for the past 15+ years since first hearing this back in high school. Legit still listen to this one every few months.
Paul McCartney is a damn good songwriter. That being said I didn’t find anything to be particularly memorable. Most enjoyable tracks: Junk, Momma Miss America, Maybe I’m Amazed
Fuck yeah, truly iconic. Ended way too soon!
Definition of 2000s indie. Beautiful strings and orchestration. More folksy than i thought it would be but still a good listen.
Cinematic songs, great voice, but very dated lyrics. Nothing particularly memorable.
Van Halen is a guitar god! Was going to give this a 3 but the last couple songs hit so hard it became a 4
Cool jangly instrumentals but I really did not enjoy the vocals at all
Solid reggae album
Recognized a few songs from this one, classic soul album and good listen.
There’s a reason this guy got popular back in the day, before all the crazy shit. Some bangers on this album but good listen overall even though I disagree with those school spirit skits
Pretty mid. Nothing memorable but I did recognize the title track.
I really dig this one. Great instrumentation, catchy songs, cute and funny lyrics but not cringe-inducing. Good stuff.
Pure unaccompanied piano for over an hour? Literal background music.
Prime Eminem is GOATed
Slow, somber, and beautiful but I feel like you need to be in the right mood for it.
Cool funky bossa nova. Solid listen.
No complaints, but pretty barebones for my millennial musical taste
Not bad but not really my thing. Synchronicity II is pretty cool. Every Breath You Take seems out of place in the album.
