I never liked this album when it came out, and still don't.
This was great! It's been years, like over 50, since I heard it. Thanks for that.
Oh boy! Looking forward to this...
Jeez, what a great album. 3 fab musicians playing fab song in a stripped down format. Bangin!
Is there a reason these have all been 40-50 years?
This one (Elvis Costello) is another fond memory....
Great. The 70s were, for me, non-stop guitar strangling blues rtock as. As epitomized by the Zep..This album kick ass.
When this came out I was a sophomore in college, and Bowie was not on my radar much. I did like the song Changes, probably from radio airplay, but I was fairly ignorant (and high) in those days.
With today's ears, I think this is a very cohesive and well executed album.
Time to dig out the Ziggy stuff, I guess....
Most excellent album from an excellent band..
Thank you for reminding me.
Never heard of this person/band or what ever.
Sorry, not for me. Reminds me of old
Glen Jimmy Webb songs recorded by Campbell.
Great! This album has been a favorite from the day it was first released.
It's the one where Zappa was a _great_ guitarist. It also introduced me to
Captain Beef heart.
1st listen today. Right now Gigantic is playing, thus roughly half way through the album.
I'm unimpressed so far. Instrumentally they're fine, solid beat, good guitar sound. Sorta grunge, sorta REM-y but with really bad lyrics.
I know it's not fair of me to judge on first listen, but I don't think I can stand it a second time.
Ahhh....too long ago. I did like single "I Had Too Much to Dream, but beyond that they OHWs.
Wow!
1969 was my 1st year of college and this record was as important as any other and ranks with Hendrix et al. I still listen to it from time to time. A+
What the...
I listened to as much as I needed, which is enough to say I'm glad I never heard of Einstürzende Neubauten before today, and I'll never hear them again. I don't mind _some_ Lärmmusik, but not as much as these guys do.
I recognize their right to label this as music, and encourage everyone to at least try to make music, but I cannot promise to listen.
1 star for the effort.
Awwww. When it came out, I was enthralled. After a month or two I was sick of it. That feeling has stuck for over 50 years.
I've loved this album since 1979. Still to this day it makes me wish I was
young enough to dance around or smash some furniture. A+
Oh , jeez.....I love Sinatra's albums from the 50s and 60s. Except for a couple, and this is one of those. It's not _bad_ so much as boring, which I blame on Jobim's involvement. Also Claus Ogerman was an odd choice of orchestrator - he did this and another Sinatra/Jobim album, The World We Knew. He did several for Jobim alone, I think, but no others with Sinatra.
Oh well. I'll give it another listen, but I don't expect I'll change my opinion.=
Oh...metal chug chug. One rung above the Kars 4 Kids song among stuff I truly hate.
Really good choice! This is an excellent recording, especially for Steely Dan fans.
