Popular Reviews

In Our Heads by Hot Chip

I’m honestly offended that out of all the electronic albums there are this is what is included in this list? The songs I enjoyed ended up being my favorites are all the more stripped back songs (These Chains, Let Me Be Him). There was also nothing vocally impressive about this album.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Jan 22 2026

Saved 4/31. His voice is incredible and I love the concept but an entire album hearing applause was too much. It took me out of the songs.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jan 23 2026

I was going to give this a 5 but the back off the album slowed down for me. I'm so glad this website introduced me to this album.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jan 27 2026

this was whatever. i listened to it while cleaning and honestly kept checking to see if it was over. +1 star for wild horses

Let It Be by The Replacements
Jan 28 2026

The songs I loved, I really loved. And the songs I hated made my ears bleed. I think this might be too heavy rock for me. "I Will Dare" and "Androgynous" are my favorites.

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Jan 30 2026

Straight elevator music. I was so bored the whole time.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Feb 03 2026

Obviously, Fight for Your Right is incredible. I liked the sample in Slow Ride. Girls was a unique song so added that too. Everything else I would never listen to again. It has too much energy which works for me if the music comes with a catchy melody but in this case it just sounded like annoying frat boys yelling for 45 minutes.

So Much For The City by The Thrills
Feb 04 2026

Hmm, I didn't end up saving any songs, mainly because I thought they were pretty boring. Everything was consistently just fine. I feel like for me to enjoy this kind of music, I need to either connect with the lyrics or the bands voice needs to blow me away and neither of those things happened for me. "Say it ain't so" is the only track that kind of got my attention but even then they strayed from the starting melody that drew me in. I'm throwing in an extra star because everything is about the Bay Area.

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
Feb 05 2026

Better than some of the other of the 2 stars but couldn’t bring myself to say this was an above average album. It started off pretty good, I liked She’s Leaving, Souvenir, and Joan of the Arc. After that it was a slog. Every thing sounded the same and I couldn’t pull any emotion out of it.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Feb 06 2026

His voice is so so nasally. People keep raving about this lyrics but I thought they were so mid and obvious. The best part of this album was the guitar solo in "Down by the River". Title track was also great and so was "The Losing End". Basically pretty high highs, super low lows. I would give this a 2.5 if I could but I'll be kind and round up.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Feb 09 2026

I really liked some of the songs and could tell the whole album was objectively good. However, besides the hits (Love Her Madly and L.A. Woman), the songs were pretty repetitive. They feel a bit like a one trick pony to me. But I guess they do that well.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Feb 11 2026

This is as high as I would ever rate a jazz album. I had so much fun listening to it but don’t know enough about jazz to elaborate.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip
Feb 12 2026

I’m honestly offended that out of all the electronic albums there are this is what is included in this list? The songs I enjoyed ended up being my favorites are all the more stripped back songs (These Chains, Let Me Be Him). There was also nothing vocally impressive about this album.

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Feb 13 2026

I actually loved this way more than I thought. Pretty chill for rock.

Melodrama by Lorde
Feb 18 2026

Ugh I love this album. This might be a bit bias bc I’ve heard so much of it before but what can you do.

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Feb 19 2026

He sounds like a worse version of Billy Joel. It was barely singing. It was just Leonard speaking to me in an extremely low voice with some fake orchestra in the background. Adding a star because at least it was listenable.

Abraxas by Santana
Feb 20 2026

The first two songs absolutely blew me out of the water and I thought this would be a five star. But honestly, it slowly declined through the rest of this album. Nevertheless, some of the most insane guitar playing I have ever heard. I can also tell how Fleetwood was inspired by them. The sound makes a lot of sense.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Feb 24 2026

every song sounded exactly the same and was hella gloomy

The Cars by The Cars
Mar 03 2026

I forgot how good Good Times Roll is. The second half of the album is soooo mid compared to the first. Although Moving in Stereo was a cool song. I love when music shifts ear to ear. Idk, because of the duds just ended up feeling middle of the pack.

American Idiot by Green Day
Mar 04 2026

Wake Me up When September Ends is just an incredible song. I'm annoyed by the double song tracks. I don't really understand the point if it's done for every single track and makes the songs 10 minutes long. That being said, in every song, I found something that I liked. They just all sounded too similar for me to give a higher rating than this.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Mar 09 2026

Sure whatever. There isn't anything special just some catchy songs

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Mar 17 2026

It sounded like I was in a dive bar in the middle of the country playing pool. The guitar was honestly insane its just that none of the songs rly stuck out to me.

Mar 18 2026

Honestly, thought I would hate this. Really good for focusing on work. Also each of the songs were distinct which I never feel with ambient music.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Mar 19 2026

maybe im getting soft but i really enjoyed this. lead singers voice wasnt awesome but everything else was. all the songs kept me on my toes
