1001 Albums Summary

I could not be convinced to like Radiohead. I hated listening to this. Sorry Thom Yorke.

I had an excellent taste in music at 19

My first folk album on this platform, and what a great one to start with. After a few punk/alt sessions right in a row, the light-hearted Americana stomp-clap of “Walt Whitman’s Niece” felt like a warm fire and spoonful of sweet molasses. I love this genre and how homey it feels. It was a fun surprise to hear instead of a southern drawl, some exaggerated Essex vowels. “Another Man’s Done Gone” sounds quite like the Beatles “Let It Be”? I’ve added Mermaid Avenue to my Homesick folk/americana playlist and look forward to hearing it alongside some of my favorites.

It's so fun! Easy listening.
