Marvin Gaye is a legend. That said… I think these songs are very situationaly dependant . If it’s 8pm cooking dinner in your kitchen or drinking wine with your baby… oh yeah dr love won’t disappoint. But middles of the day… songs stretch forever and im left not know when one song is over and the next begins. Love the man, but not for today.
For anyone who compares Lana del Rey to Amy.. that’s an insult. Miss winehouse is raw and full or her own truth. Jazzy, bluesy, rock and roll, and offensive but keeps all ears listening.
I first met George Sinnott this past summer… He would play Ozzy Osbourne every time he got the ox cord at work. The first time I thought it was a bit of a joke than the second time I thought OK he’s a fan. The third time was fitting because that was the day Ozzy Osbourne died. George knew something I didn’t but now listening to this album learning the history and how it was released on Friday the 13th… I’m definitely someone who appreciates some good showmanship in any medium. Rest in peace… prince iof darkness
Around the age of 12 the song pretty fly for a white guy was one of the coolest songs in my world… Keep them separated was pretty up there too. This type of album makes me think about slamming a can of beer and then crushing it on your head to go skateboarding and also all of the jackass movies a little bit. Did anybody else wait for the last track at the very end for the hidden bonus song?

All you need is love… oh baby. I wish I was alive during these age. If I could just wear nice clothes and shoes, and hang at the sugar bar and drink milkshakes and dance with the beautiful ladies I would be happy following the law of the Beatles.
Love these scousers..
Fun and great stories about love in a relationship and the end of one with tears…
I don’t love country but I had fun with this one and prefer older country albums than newer ones for sure.
Great way to start my morning!
I never really listen to Bob Marley but I always believed in him. Easy going reggae full of love and peace and emotion. My slow morning was beautiful.
Ah yes… blood, sugar, sex, Magik, some of my favourite things in life!
This album has changed the world of rock for ever.
The fact that rick Ruben helped them, one of their mums church choir sings on it, flea basically owned the bass scene and made the instrument cool while being butt naked on stage…
One of the first songs I learned with two fingers on piano was Thunderstruck
Talk about cool. 😎
AC/DC have been and will always be giants of rock and roll. Having cannons on stage and fire and combining lyrics about sex, love, and other rock and roll themes.
Intro and Breathless were. Interesting but the rest of the album i was struggling to connect to or find much joy with…
Creative band but not grabbing my attention really at all.
Listened to the first 2 songs then the holidays started… again didn’t love it
Various artists… great album. Having these hazy voice recordings and song with lots of xylophone and horns and violin feels real and organic and warming brass is lovely . Christmas is a winner!
Lively. Wild. Extraordinary man of his time.
This album is great fun and the last song being 18 min makes me want to go to more live jazz concerts I just fall into the flow
Nirvana has always been a fringe band to me. Knowing them from the radio but not deeper. My friend Said is a big fan and loves them.. I heard a story about how Kurt recorded a song and then everyone left the studio and he was laying on the couch with the guitar on him playing quietly and the producer made him stay there, moved the equipment into the room and re recorded it to get the raw heavy, yet gentle version. That song was something in the way…
If you are feeling lonely or suicidal please reach out to someone. Even me if your reading this.
If I had to name two people who are actually aliens… it would be Echart Tolle, and Bjork. I first heard her on a feature with the Dirty Projectors and it’s fucking beautiful song.. then I gave her a full weekend this summer to really learn her music. Finding other artists and being able to reference them as similar to Bjork almost feels like a flex now. Oh and Anchor song has to be one of my favourite songs because of how raw and real and simple it is. I just love her little grumbles and roars during her singing.. Bjork your the alien we humans needed 👽
The first song felt like Moby a bit. The second had me feeling good. The last few were more like Elton John and Bob Dylan. Didn’t expect this album to be like this but I enjoyed it! 2.5 in my heart
Well. Me and Julio down by the school yard always reminds me of Wes Anderson films and just happy summer days.
Great voice, easy to listen to on a New Year’s Day 1
How low can you go.. how low can you go…this guy makes my voice seem like a Alvin and the Chipmunk’s 🐿️
My first listen through didn’t love it my second lesson through. I enjoyed the first half of the album a lot more than the second half… I’ve never really known the affection that Leonard Cohen has got from anything that he’s made, but I know people seem to adore him and think he’s the best thing since Wonderbread. I don’t think I’ll be listening to more of this. It’s kind of like talk poetry but with weird inflictions.
Listened in the morning. Then I watched the full animated dvd film in the evening.
They saved pepper land from the blue meanies and Glove 🧤
And they did it with music and love, and the word yes instead of no.
Hurray!
I just don’t seem to enjoy Americana rock.. like a song or two sure then I just kinda get bored and they all sound the same.. can someone change my mind if you love this?
Like even if there were 12 tracks for the 12 dreams I could give it more credit but that didn’t even seem to lineup
Not at all what I expected. Started so fast and intense but then has some kind of psychedelic parts and some humour with the lyrics.. a very new band to me but I can see myself listening to certain songs again!
Got me through a stale elliptical session and still has some fire and bite.
The horns are a nice touch
This is an amazing album. Emily introduced me to Portishead at Rosso years ago and very 5 years or so after I hear it and think wow. This is chilling and it slowly engulfs me..
Although this week is highly dedicated to learning Spanish. Trying to keep up! Randy has the voice of many millennials childhood and it’s equally goofy and trustworthy. I didn’t get to fully listen but after I did my abbreviated listen and read the lyrics/album write ups.. I’m gonna put this as a new favourite find here.
