Parallel Lines by Blondie
Dec 10 2025

pop rock perfection with some timeless hits. “One Way or Another” and “Heart of Glass” are obviously classics, but the whole album is so fun

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Dec 11 2025

there's a reason why Metallica are the legends that they are. this isn't a genre/band that I typically reach for.

Arrival by ABBA
Dec 12 2025

one of my all time favorite bands and albums. Abba and Mamma Mia have been super formative for me. I love them and this album!

Dec 15 2025

love a good jazz album! definitely would not have found this on my own, I've never heard of Charles Mingus!

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Dec 17 2025

not my personal favorite album as a whole, but I have been listening "Wild World" for years now! I can appreciate the impact this album has had without necessarily loving it myself.

So by Peter Gabriel
Dec 29 2025
Tellin’ Stories by The Charlatans
Jan 07 2026

YEAH I loved this. Only Teething and Get On It were my favorites.

Swordfishtrombones by Tom Waits
Jan 08 2026

A little bit too weird and abstract for me to enjoy casually. Not a huge fan of this, and probably will not be revisiting, but I can appreciate the experimental-ness of it.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jan 12 2026

"Take Me Out" is one of the most iconic 2000's indie/alt rock songs of all time. This album rocks.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jan 14 2026

Everlasting Light! Howlin for you! Ten Cent Pistol! The Black Keys you will always be famous............

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Jan 15 2026

Alternative dream pop at it's best

Eagles by Eagles
Jan 16 2026

Take It Easy makes me incredibly weepy and nostalgic for some reason. I love this album.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Jan 19 2026

turns out my dad was kind of onto something when he said the Beastie Boys are good. I don’t think i’ll revisit a lot of this (just not my preferred casual listening genre) but it is good. I didn’t realize how jam band-y the beastie boys could get but i can get behind it.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jan 20 2026

enjoyed this more than I thought I would!!!

Berlin by Lou Reed
Jan 21 2026

tbh I don't really like this but whatever. also holy shit lou reed you cannot sing</3 his voice on How Do You Think It Feels drove me crazy in particular, because the arrangement and guitar was great, but then he'd open his mouth and like bro SHUT UP

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Jan 26 2026

I like Joy Division and a lot of songs on this album, but the album as a whole was a tough listen honestly

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jan 28 2026

3.5. Very cool little album from a band I had never heard of. Liked this one a lot.

OK by Talvin Singh
Jan 29 2026

what the hell sure Talvin

Beautiful Freak by Eels
Jan 30 2026

Listened Before? No Pros: Classic 90s grunge, some good moments, didn't totally hate listening to it Cons: Truly fugly album art, "life is hard and so am I", just overall not my favorite, got boring in parts Songs Added to Playlist: None lol

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 02 2026

Listened Before? Partially! I knew Bad Mood Rising and Green River Pros: EXCELLENT album from CCR. They're legends. Cons: None! I really enjoyed this Songs Added to Playlist: Green River, Commotion, Bad Moon Rising

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Feb 03 2026

Listened Before? Partially! I already had Only a Fool Would Say That saved and I knew Do It Again, Dirty Work, Reelin in the Years Pros: A wonderful classic folk rock album. Love it Cons: None! Songs Added to Playlist: Do It Again, Only a Fool Would Say That, Change of the Guard

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Feb 04 2026

Listened Before?: No! I have literally never even heard of them Pros: I LOVED this album. It was so good and I haven't stopped listening to it since I found it! Cons: None! Songs Added to Playlist: A Design for Life, Enola/Alone, Everything Must Go, The Girl Who Wanted to be God, No Surface All Feeling

Tapestry by Carole King
Feb 06 2026

Listened Before?: Partially! I knew I Feel the Earth Move, It's Too Late, and You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman Pros: I saw another reviewer point out how this 1001 albums list is severely lacking in entries from women. While this album isn't my personal favorite, Carole is an icon, and this album is a testament to that. While I found the album kind of sonically boring, Carole's songwriting definitely shines. Cons: Not an album/genre I'd personally usually reach for, dragged on in parts Songs Added to Playlist: It's Too Late

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Feb 09 2026

Listened Before?: Yes Pros: God this album really is banger after banger. Cons: Human Nature lol.....just not a fan of that song Songs Added to Playlist: Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, PYT

Who's Next by The Who
Feb 16 2026

Listened Before?: Partially Pros: BABA O'RILEY! Cons: Did not super enjoy the rest of the album Songs Added to Playlist: Baba O'Riley

Feb 23 2026

Listened Before?: YES Pros: I. LOVE. THIS. ALBUM. I've loved this album for 10+ years, back when I discovered it on Tumblr in my childhood bedroom. Pre-AM Arctic Monkeys is just so classic, so wonderful. For being a 20 year old debut album, this still holds up. It is seriously so awesome. Arctic Monkeys forever. Cons: NONE! I wish it was longer! Songs Added to Playlist: The entire album. My fav is always I Bet You Look Good on The Dancefloor though.

Parklife by Blur
Mar 03 2026
