1001 Albums Summary

Couple good songs and a couple that all sounded the same.

What a unique album. I’d never really listened to them before, holy crap!

A good collection of classic Christmas songs.

I didn’t find it particularly special. Some fun funky instrumentals, but wouldn’t recommend to a friend or listen again (besides maybe “Down”)

10/10 would listen again and again and would recommend to anyone who doesn’t know they love jazz yet

For the genre it is, it is very good. It’s not really my style, but I’m keeping some songs from album in some sort of rotation.

There were some examples of really cool lyricism and one or two songs that weren’t bad, but the amount of discussion of the rape and murder of women was hard to listen to. I actually skipped through the ends of several songs where it was just uncomfortable, including especially the song titled Kim. I used to listen to Eminem when I was a kid and didn’t really understand some of the hate he received, but as a 28 yo woman listening to his music made my stomach churn.

I thought it was a fun album with some really fun instrumentals.

Overall I enjoyed it, but pretty slow for me. I don’t think I’d listen to again but it’s a good album for a slow morning or baking or something!

I had no idea Dusty was the singer for so many of the classics I was familiar with.
