distinctly british in a way that was lowkey too much for me lmao, very much what i expected from the snippets i've heard on tiktok. there were a couple of songs i liked straight off the bat and i could see myself maybe listening to this album every now and again. i think it'll take some time to grow on me tho,,
i tried listening to this a few years ago and i never really got into it but like,, ofc it's good... it's more blues-y than i expected. i'm not sure i'll ever listen to these songs on their own but i might sit down and listen to the album from time to time
i hadn't heard of this specific album before, but i know ray charles ofc and it was very much what i expected. if they didn't sing the title of each song as the first thing in literally every track i probably couldn't tell them apart bc they're very similar - not necessarily a bad thing, but i probably won't relisten to this on my own. best case i'd put it on in the background if i had it on vinyl. that said, ofc this is a good album; they're good songs, but not exactly the stuff i usually listen to. objectively this is at least a 4/5, but i suspect that's the case for most of these albums so i'm gonna try rating them based on how i personally feel
very singer songwriter-y. not exactly my cup of tea, but i fuck with the overall vision. i would probably use a couple of these songs in my upcoming coming of age indie film
idk i don't have much to say about this one. the songs are nice and all but it's very generic 80's rock i feel,, i wasn't really impressed, nothing really stood out to me. decent songs but i probably won't listen again lol
veery 80's. the first track was pretty banger, but then the next couple of tracks were very lowkey. idk tbh i don't really care for her voice,, also there were several songs on the album that were just covers so idrk,, i'd probably rather just listen to the originals
didn't expect it to be fullt instrumental,, very much a one hit wonder band it seems bc i recognized the titular song immediately ofc. but idk it's got a nice blues, organ vibe, but not more than that. again, i could see myself putting this on if i had it on vinyl but otherwise eh
nothing exciting tbh. nice vibes, nothing really stood out to me tho
i think i'd fw this so heavy if i was 16, but unfortunately i'm not,, it's more down my alley than most of these other albums tho. it's kinda giving weezer (and don't get it twisted, i like those guys), and i know the kind of ignorant vibes are presumably on purpose, but it also just kinda feels like the lead singer can't really sing. i do actually like the instrumentation quite a lot but if i'm being honest the vocals kinda ruin it for me,,
i fw gorillaz pretty heavy but i never really got into blur. definitely just for a lack of trying tho, this might be my breakthrough
i’ve never like LISTENED to prince but you can’t deny he’s a legend and the music is banger. i’ll probably keep listening to this album
knew a couple of these beforehand, only bc they're so famous, never really listened to her. but she has a really nice voice and this album is a vibe overall, will def listen more
this is so far one of the few albums i've known nothing about - not the album itself, never heard of the artist, didn't recognize a single song. but this was such a vibe, i loved it so much. groovy as fuck, will be listening again
i mean,,,,, yes. i added this album to my spotify library ages ago with the intent of listening to it because of lover you should've come over, and i've listened to it here and there but never really got into it. we'll see if that changes,, something i think some of the other albums might've lacked is dynamics. this one does not. there's something for every mood in there, like corpus christi carol going into eternal life is crazy
