REM is one of my many favorite bands. This one shows off their more rock-ish side while still keeping that signature REM sound. Great album

Amazing! Wish these freaking weirdos who reissue albums would stop changing the order of the original tracklist, though.

One of those live albums that almost don't sound like a live album until the clapping. The guy is an amazing singer, and his band is great too But.... as good as the guy is, French is such a hard language to make sound good when you sing it, and it's quite harsh on the ears when the rest of the music is so je ne sais quoi. The only song that really works effectively with the bite of the French language in song is Les Toros Avec Final, which is one of the most pleasantly dramatic songs I've ever heard But other than that, the principle of the album is spectacular, it's just how coarse and harsh French sounds in song that are supposed to be romantic or whatever. So all in all, it's about as close as a 4 you can get without rating it a 4 in my opinion. I don't really want to take off 2 whole stars just for that one issue I found, but it's consistent enough throughout the album that it just bothers me

It really is just another glam metal 80s album. A bunch of trendy for the time dudes trying to be awesome and get the spotlight. The lead guitarist is really the thing holding them together at all. The rhythm section is pretty good on their own. But the singer can't sing, which can work with some bands, but he really just doesn't fit at all and rips. It's like he's trying too hard to have bite and ferociousness, but it either sounds like a random, weird animal or exactly what he looks like on the cover. The production, I think, is the real let down. I feel like they would be a lot more listenable if the sound had any substance. Just sounds hollow and shallow. Not a great album, but it has a few listenable, fun moments
