enthusiastic, energetically young, smooth and “new”? fading outros and repetitive choruses, but that doesn’t take the beauty out of it. 80s sound for sure. Very fresh sonically, atmospheric and crackly. The feeling of being in an arcade. If I had to choose one pop rock album, it would be this. (even if I don’t dig pop rock too much.)
tad weird, psychedelic, almost alien but undoubtedly rock. It sounds as weird as it looks on the album cover. Do I like it? Maybe, or Maybe not. I’m not sure of it myself. Immensely progressive, not just my type maybe.
like sweet south, very country and folk. almost like i’m biting on a piece of grass too, during a real hot day. amazing at what it does, quite incredible. my favorite parts are the real clean violin parts. really great (in the background.)
- reminds me of the beatles. very nice and simple and comforting. dreamy and cool. nice to play in the background as lounge music that if u listen carefully enough u’ll actually find it sounds good.
- PUNK AND HARCORE but it’s still good and for what it is, it’s definitely fucking awesome. Most songs are pretty motivated by hardship, freedom and world issues, along with some really sharp riffs, and it’s amazing, kind of like the setup for more pop punk and more melodic hardcore in its near future. Definitely have a soft spot for really edgy and bouncy punk. Some tracks are quick and some are ska, super duper sick, super duper punk.
- gothic punk? hell yeah! the vocalist looks sick as hell and the music is very textile and dark, atmospheric. feeling like wednesday adamms. super many textures for percussion and tones for guitar. Ghosts and ghouls and all. Bit weird cos they’re post rock gothic punk, but very cool songs for sure, and some cool ass vocals that stretch out. Kind of trippy, no? Anyways, happy halloween, and good night.
- we’re all living but its a constant struggle to keep on living. this album takes u deep into the urban jungle, the struggles, the projects. word is bond. raw and insanely cool, thank you raekwon and wu tang. u need to be critical when u talk about wu tang and their nine-member rap group in staten island, the influence they had in the least recognized borough. flow and influence still prominent.
- who doesn’t like supermassive blackhole thanks to twilight. muse is an amazing band, electronically and sonically super wide spacey and aggressive. like the core of a robot is a dying star. it feels as if u are eating an angry dinner with martians at one of jupiter’s moons. matt belamy is a genius, mixing space elements, hard rock tones, surf rock, jazz, spanish style strums and symphonic elements along with his ethereal stretching voice. the work of muse is so abstract and new, something you won’t expect, but it will pull everything under its rug and before you ask, yes, especially corrupt government. i can say many great things about this band but not as great as the songs speak for themselves.
- really poppy punky grunge, idk what else to say. very very very sick tracks, that tread between pop, punk and grunge. this specific album is more pop if anything though, especially on tracks like awful. always those very catchy progressions, in a way its extremely corny but in another way its also very easy to listen to. sounds very riot grrl (which it probably is) its an album that is pretty on the outside and dirty on the inside, there isnt really any track that you’ll hate too much on this album. its just very pop-alternative. courtney love had a rlly good band its too bad he killed kurt cobain.
can you forgive her caught me off guard, what an amazing intro track. sounds super massive with all the brass and disco like feel. Very easygoing and joyous, and funky. I got bored maybe halfway through, its pretty calming.
what a fucking good album, iconic in all its right and wrongs, from the iconic album cover to the hit after hit after hit tracks. you have to love it from the punky guitars and political opinions, and SLURS. its a good fucking album. birthed in the middle of the advancement and the more corrupt the world grows, the harder the album goes. unlike dookie which was closer to punk, they went undoubtedly closer to pop in this track. but the lyrics remain relevant and angrier than ever. this album birthed every single track that everybody knows, punk or not ur gonna sing to either american idiot or holiday/boulevard or wake me up. the album js throws u into it, its so amazing. they strayed away from the the offspring, descendants stuff and took more of an explosion to pop-ification. amazing still.
Very passionate tracks with an almost artistic approach. It feels very old school as it is, but it feels also very new. This was before the punk we know in the 80s, a very soft sound compared to the now but insanely upbeat and quite catchy. You can say it’s a very classic type of punk. It’s a very short album though, only stretching to about 38 mins all throughout. Nonetheless, very cool and very radical for the time, it is also very cool how radiohead really liked talking heads so that’s that. Considering that this is the first Talking Heads album, it is pretty good.
