1001 Albums Summary

Kind of amazed this was their debut album, didn’t realise how many of their big songs were on this. I do think this is ‘the’ album to represent 80’s rock and it is pretty astounding how many tracks we still hear all these decades later in general pop culture.

Definitely something I thought I would want to own on vinyl straight away, perfect valentine’s day music too.

80’s pop rock, a few stand out songs for sure and makes me want to dance out with a air guitar.

Never knew the name of the Heads will roll song which is so crazy to know finally which album it’s from. There were a few stand out songs but frankly I was pretty bored for most of it and found myself zoning out.

Have listened to most of this before, two albums in one is a bit daunting but my god I’m slowly understanding the Nick Cave cult. Stand out is of course O My Children, but I find the albums beautifully cohesive intertwined with strong storytelling.

dance jammy, but felt all over the place and just didn’t work for me

Hated the first song but it got better from there and didn’t end up minding it surprisingly

Not really my thing, liked the titled track but for most of it I zoned out and it became background noise, some good moments but overall not as cohesive as I would have liked.

Listening to white man mj, some bangers though
