1001 Albums Summary

Probably goes on a bit too long but the good stuff on here is *really good*. Didn't realise there were so many hits I knew on one album. Really good.

Not my genre at all but I didn't care much for this. I liked the intro track and Real People, and that was about it. The closing track was pretty obnoxious and inauthentic, and a lot in the middle was forgettable. Outside of the two tracks I liked, I definitely won't be revisiting this.

I really enjoyed this to begin with. Some of the riffs in the earlier songs were extremely funky, really refreshing and right up my avenue. The slower, bluesier songs later on lost me a bit, but I think that's just because I didn't understand the lyrics. Really good album regardless though!

This one really blew me away. I couldn't listen to it in one go, due to life getting in the way, which will end up impacting the score, but I looked forward to revisiting it every time. Really good album, best one of a new genre I've heard for a long while.

Definitely not my kettle of fish. I can appreciate the technical brilliance without really getting much from it. Each song was too repetitive for me, and outside of the last couple of tracks, I didn't get too much from it.

Of course it's 5 stars. What a fucking kick ass album. So much nostalgia here, but even with that aside, it's just so fucking good!

Very boring without being actively bad like yesterday's. I had it on in the background while cooking and thank god, because if I had to listen to this in the foreground, I may not have finished it.

I fucked with this way more than I thought I would. Really female empowering "fuck men" rhetoric with funk and attitude, which I didn't expect from an album out in the 60s. I'd go back to this one.

Just obnoxiously dull and pretentious, the epitome of what music shouldn't be. Painfully uninteresting in every sense.

I do like their music, but the issue with The Ramones is that once you've heard one song, you've heard them all. Blitzkrieg Bop is great, but the rest of the album is pretty redundant after that.

This was so close to 5 stars, absolutely phenomenal album; Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Child, All Along the Watchtower, etc. However, a couple of overdrawn, more experiment tracks made lulls that I can't overlook. Truly incredible, though.

This falls into a similar trap I've had before, in that it's so closely aligned with my own music taste that it comes off as a bit generic. Definitely a 3 star, probably close to a 4 star, it's just missing a big hit or two for me.
