With this album, I officially begin my journey to 1001 albums you must hear before you die. Before that, I had no idea about this album, except, of course, the song Hotel California (I'm so in love with California, God). Before listening to the album, I read the reviews and realized that many people called the album boring, so I didn't expect anything AT all. And because I didn't have any expectations from this album, it seemed very good to me. New kid in town is just a great song for me. I don't know why so many artists use Johnny's name and what his allegory is, if there is one, but it's funny, I love that name (Johnny Depp, call me). In general, the album is not bad, pleasant in sound, wonderful vocals. I don't really know anything about the discography and biography of the band, just as a listener, I'll rate 7.5
My second album from the series "1001 albums you must hear before you die"
Last year, I thought about starting listening to electronic music / music without words, because during any work it helps to concentrate. But I still couldn't find the style of music that I would like. Daft Punk saved me from this situation. I like to evaluate albums like this, where you just have to listen. Here you don't need to think about every line in the song, look for some metaphors, read translations or delve into the biography, here you just need to listen, just enjoy the sound. It turned out to be very easy to listen to. The kind of music I didn't know I needed.
And as always:
around the world
around the wooooorld
My third album from the list "1001 albums you must hear before you die"
There were no expectations. I saw that it was Jazz and it immediately became clear to me.... I absolutely need to go to a jazz bar. It's necessary for my mental health, God. All I want to say is that I really need to listen to this live. I can imagine how good it can be, but my headphones are not able to convey the full depth and volume of sounds. And my opinion is that jazz is exactly what you should listen to live. And Jazz along with Afrobeat is even more so. But the atmosphere is there anyway. There are only 4 songs here (except for the drum solo by Ginger and Tony(although it's amazing)) and these breaks to communicate with the audience between each song feel so warm. I recommend listening to those who are thinking whether to start listening to Jazz or afrobeat.
The fourth day, the fourth album from the list of "1001 albums you must hear before you die"
So far, everything is going very smoothly. For some reason, this album has a very cowboy vibe for me, I like it. The focus is primarily on the lyrics, the story is told in every song of this album. Atlantic City has become the closest thing to me in terms of lyrics and music. And as for the music, In addition to the lyrics, a harmonica is used as an instrumental in each song, which is no worse instrumentally than the same guitar or drum kit. Also, my theory that Johnny's name in the songs is some kind of collusion between the musicians is only being confirmed, lol. And the album is good, I don't know if I'll listen to these songs often, but I'm glad I've ever listened to them.
My Favorites: Atlantic City, Highway Patrolman and State trooper
