1001 Albums Summary

Surprised how much I like this. Pretty solid, riff rock, even though some of the sounds and song structures feel pretty dated and trope-y.

Probably felt euphoric and revelatory if you were 13-23, quite high, and the world was in shambles.

Incredible voice, songwriting, and track sequencing. Turned a 3/5 mood to an ecstatic 5.

Started as a 2 (I was kind of tired, wasn’t really feeling the dated sound)… until The Windmills of your Mind blew me away, and brought the whole thing up to a 4… there’s also a few fun do-whops and the all-timer everyone knows.

Easy five. This is an epic of the highest order, that could soundtrack a stoner’s couch-locked trip through the universe, and return them to the planet with a smile

Better than I expected, not as moody or mopey… sorta surprised how rock n roll it felt?

Early recording industry thrived on serving the most of the same, and here’s a whole lotta Frank.

I think I’m allergic to dates sounds, especially on albums longer than 35 min.

Starts out pretty good, but feels like they only had a few good songs in them.

Dark as hell, with some songs sounding like pretty rad party anthems.

Heard this and loved this back in the day, when I was learning what I liked and liking what I learned.

Not for me, but very Cool low-fi sound, and very determined clear headed writing.

This one feels like a grower, or that it hits better drinking in a bar.

A stellar product of its time, with inciteful and cutting analysis of social and spiritual shit.

A surprising number of deep cut bangers, with the obvious hits being fairly tired and overplayed.
