Znałem Beatlesów ale nie od tej strony. Początki, jeszcze trochę nie tak dobre jak następne prace. Przesłuchane przy śniadaniu i szachach, approved :)
As a disclaimer, I’m not too familiar with the jazz-esque genres. Neither do I speak Portuguese.
I enjoyed it though, moved me to a local tropical cafe where no worries matter. Reminded me of fado here and there. Elegant enough , yet not-so-much of the elevator music” as some say. Overall 4/5, will definitely come back to it on a summer day!
Elegant jazz that could be a soundtrack to Narcos or any other latino screenplay.
TGFI was pleasant calm
Wait, the 2nd author is Brazilian, I thought it sounded a bit like Fado or like things Kiedrynski plays during his programs. Not my kind of music but I enjoined it.
What can I say, it’s The Police. Lately I’ve been listening to them a lot, with slight preference to the blue album. This is a fine work, however a bit uneven, the 2nd part of the album is much better. Apart from obvious Every Breath You Take, my particular standouts would be Miss Grandenko, King of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger.
I’m not a huge fan of U2, listened to the album a few times and wasn’t too impressed. It was just an ’alright’ rock.
I understand that the band is supposed to be great, however it didn’t impress me that much.
Sometimes it sounds like an old-youtube mashups of The Beatles, Queen, and Pink Floyd. The album is so long and at some point it feels like one bland, long song playing (and I’m not hating on prog rock here). Apart from mr blue sky enjoyed some songs, like Turn to Stone or The Whale.
I can see it being a good album, it just didn’t grow on me yet, gonna give another chance at some point but for now it is 2.5/5.
This was my 2nd U2 album (after about one week here lol) and I enjoyed it a lot. Ended up listening to it 3 or 4 times. So good front-to-back, even ignoring 3 opening bangers. Particular standouts: Bullet The Blue Sky, Red Hill Mining Town, Exit.
Being a bit lenient, I rate it 5/5!
It’s alright, but I can understand people whining if the other 5 albums of his on the list sound the same.
A fine, but not too remarkable 80s album.
So much positive energy, soul is almost never my music of choice but I enjoyed it. The live performance only adds up to it.
Apart from Street Lights I wasn’t familiar with them. A very pleasant piece of jazz.
Overall enjoyed it, The Sea Song and Catch the Sun stand out to me. Has a bit of The National or Foo Fighters at times.
Overall I like Metallica, not only the viral songs but also some deep cuts. I briefly listened to S&M2 but I hadn’t heard the original till today.
Overall the 1st CD was very disappointing, the symphony wasn’t really adding anything to the music, no cooperation as if metal and symphony were trying to jam each other out. Obviously apart from No Leaf Clover. The 2nd CD is much better and there symphony actually (mostly) complements the original sounds.
I’ve been to 2 Apocalyptica show and honestly their arrangements are absoluty mesmerizing. I know it’s just cellos and not a whole orchestra, but still I expected something more out of the huge potential their music has. Much of the album sounded as if it was put together hastily, without much forethought. Overall 3/5.
Not really my cup of tea, not that I dislike prog. I understand prog songs tend to be longer, but why on earth would you merge 7(?) songs into one track? I enjoyed some stuff of the latter part of the album, like A Passage To Bangkok.
The vocals were annoying most of the time. Not really eager to check out any more of their compositions.
