Fear Of Music by Talking Heads

Am I the only one who finds David Byrne’s voice to be grating?! Every song was so similar it just blended into my background noise. Not a fan

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Apr 06 2026

Excellent look into a legend. I particularly liked how at times one song led right to the next and the band kept playing in the background. BB is a storyteller, with words, song, and his guitar playing. Long live the King!

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Apr 07 2026

Sometimes, genius needs guardrails. Or at least an editor. The first 2/3 of the album was difficult to listen to, almost as if Jimi was trying too hard to replicate "Are You Experienced?" while showing his depth as an artist. Anyway, the redemption of the last 3 tracks makes this album stand up as a classic and earns back one of the stars in my rating.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Apr 08 2026

I hadn't really given the Velvet Underground a full listen. They are so pleasant and easy to listen to, I will be giving them more playtime in my rotation. The album flowed nicely, and my only minor gripe is the lack of a standout track(s).

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Apr 16 2026

Perfect soundtrack for my walk downtown leaving the office today

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Apr 17 2026

It’s Paul Simon. It’s fine. A little boring. Easy to listen to

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Apr 23 2026

Comeback? Maybe don’t next time

C'est Chic by CHIC
Apr 24 2026

Disco? But make the album jazz too? Some of the songs are too long but surprisingly better than I expected

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Apr 27 2026

Glad I “revisited” this album. Younger me didn’t like Dylan because of his raspy voice. But now that I have a more trained ear, I can hear the nuance, appreciate the musicality, and the amazing poetry. One of the greats!

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Apr 28 2026

Funky. Fun. Easy to dance to and powers a good workout. I swear I have this on vinyl somewhere. Anyway it’s a great listen end to end but gets a little repetitive. Carried by the hits and some hidden gems. Solid

Electric by The Cult
Apr 29 2026

It’s fine. A perfectly 80s rock album but nothing more than generic
