First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans

came in KNOWING i was going to appreciate this album based solely on the title. i recall reaching happy meal II and thinking about how lucky i was to stumble across this album. and then step on me starts playing and i start tweaking and racking my brain trying to recall this song and eventually it clicks and im just one with the instrumentals. and THEN lovefool ?? right after step on me ?? oh my god i love this album i would listen to every song many many more times, most of them have been favorited without second thoughts. great album. best album ive heard since starting this (what felt like a) debacle of a venture. amazing.

Cool intro; Lost Ones is p good, not my fav type of song, but of said type of songs it is prob at the top 🀷; Ex-Factor - Didn't like until ~the 3:00 mark. Such a good song from that point, very acceptable before that point; To Zion 🀨 uh sounds mostly pretty ig, zion being yodeled every 5 secs kinda sells today, okay i do love the outro exerpt; 🌟 Doo Wop is more my style mmm yummy "and you wonder why women hate men". beautiful outroexerpt; Superstar pretty good uh I enjoy the background vocals, v pretty "everything you drop is so tired, music is supposed is supposed to inspire"; Final Hour "Lauryn hill from new york to israel" 🀨 from this point i'm just going to picture the biblical israel, not current day israevil; 🌟When It Hurts so Bad - p good as well "what you want might pass you by / make you cry" "you gotta catch it" "gave up my power, I existed for you" beautiful song & beautiful extro "people are confused about love"; I Used to Love Him also pretty good, not much to say idk; Forgive Them Father "pull strings like gepetto" "everyday people lie to god too, what makes you think they won't lie to you?" pretty outro "...you wanna know what they thinking"; Every Ghetto, Every City pretty; Nothing Even Matters - we love some D'Angelo "Nothing but you"; Everything Is Everything - after winter must come spring; 🌟The Miseduaction of Lauryn Hill - feel like i had to fav this one, not a fan of the faux record spinning distortion but otherwise; Can't Take My Eyes Off of You - woah didn't know that this was the album that this song came from - i need you baby. Good album, LB 6 : UB 9. v good, will be listening to the favorited songs again.

Not my fav, but I can totally see how this album paved the way for others. 1999 & Can We Pretend We're Married were v good, otherwise the instrumentals tickled my ears, not much else.

Dummy by Portishead

Mysterons - holy guacamole i love the instrumental, the vocals err a little too far on the side of doomer/gloomer music for me, but great sounds overall. Sour Times - more yummy ear tinglers "nobody loves me, it's true, not like you do". Strangers - very buzzy, saw synthy at start, calms down ~30 secs in; comes back in @ ~1:15, love the beeping mm. It Could Be Sweet - bouncy stuff in the bakground is sexc. Wandering Star - scratches back n forth are hot, starting to appreciate it more as a production album than an album w crazy vocals (not that vocalist isn't talented, she mosdef is) or lyrics. It's a Fire - delicious organs (s?) in the back, pretty song Numb - okay now i wanna listen to something else but i think that might just be my brain, this song was still more than listenable. Roads - dramatic / climatic / ending sorta music. Pedestal - Likely much better on a second listen, still immaculate production, it's just starting to feel like an analysis assignment. Biscuit - this one woke me back up, we're so back; also just thinking about how "dummy" is such a good title. Glory Box - mmm. overall a very good album, excels in production quality and experimentation imo.
