Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
Apr 22 2026

Not my favorite but I appreciate it for what it is. Beats are good but I hate the bro-rap style in some of the tracks

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 23 2026

I like some of the jam band / solo moments but the way some of the compositions are strung together rubs me the wrong way. Glad I listened to this one for its importance and found a couple cool songs, but probably won't revisit the entire album soon

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Apr 27 2026

I really like the songwriting but the guitar playing and vocals are a bit more raw than some of the contemporary music I like, aside from Things Behind The Sun and a few others. It would be so cool to listen to a re-recorded version with new mastering by modern producers. Sort of reminds me of CAKE in that the composing is excellent but lacks the polished sound I look for in music. Still probably my favorite album so far on 1001 Albums.

Fun House by The Stooges
Apr 28 2026

While no specific song stood out to me (except for 1970, from the Tony Hawk games), this is easily the most enjoyable full album so far. Songwriting and flow, groovy rhythms and jammy sessions made it a really fun listen. Okay, what’s going on in L.A. Blues..? This noise has gone on for far too long lmaooo

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
May 05 2026

Midnight Rambler though… album felt like required reading for music lovers

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
May 06 2026

Couple bangers in there!

Young Americans by David Bowie
May 09 2026

Glad I listened to it for the bangers

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
May 14 2026

Some bangers, couple skips

Blue by Joni Mitchell
May 15 2026

Not a fan

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 19 2026

Finally, an album I own and love!
