If nobody got me I know the drum machine got me

Faith by George Michael

how did people not know he was gay

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears

Fantastic album, one of the best to ever do it. Non stop bangers that work both as singles and as a complete album. RIP Tears for Fears you would have loved the Assassin's Creed Unity E3 2014 World Premiere Cinematic Trailer

If nobody got me I know the drum machine got me

Blood, Sweat & Tears by Blood, Sweat & Tears
May 18 2026

Really cool album! Never heard of it before today but the combination of 60s rock and big brass really works for me, at least on most of the tracks. Feels like proto prog with the long songs that shift style and tone dramatically throughout. Best Song: God Bless the Child Worst Song: And When I Die

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
May 19 2026

Not bad but incredibly goofy. Best Song: Day at the Races Worst Song: What's Golden

Immigrés by Youssou N'Dour
May 20 2026

I really enjoyed this! Funky but a bit melancholy too, my kind of jam. Best Song: Pitche Mi Worst Song: Badou (but it's still pretty good)

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
May 21 2026

The base average of music to me Best Song: Dull Life Worst Song: Skeletons

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
May 22 2026

Great album from Albarn with a fantastic flow I'd never heard of before, but also makes it way weirder that there's not demon days or plastic beach on this list Favourite Song: A Soldier's Tale

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
May 23 2026

Completely serviceable album and I get why it hit for the oldheads who wish music like this was made more today, but it does not hang with the actual classics

May 24 2026

Just straight up worse than its contemporaries. Just give me another Led Zeppelin or King Crimson album instead

Different Class by Pulp
May 25 2026

Depending on the day I might say this is the best album ever made.

May 26 2026

Very fun album with a lot of fun touches like the Gunbuster esque interstitial Speakerboxxx throughout that album, and really really enjoyed The Love Below as a goofier more experimental album, but it is just so long as a double album it is hard to listen to as one thing.

It's good, I do not want to give the impression this is not good. James Brown is a legend and I love a lot of his work. That said, live albums do not do it for me and without the allure of new songs I'd rather just listen to the studio releases. Also it's soooo short. Excited to get to James Brown's proper albums, wait getting word from my editor, there are no other James Brown albums on the list, what the hell.

Back to back live soul albums, and this one is quite a bit worse, just did not hit for me at all.

Faith by George Michael

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
May 30 2026

Fantastic album, one of the best to ever do it. Non stop bangers that work both as singles and as a complete album. RIP Tears for Fears you would have loved the Assassin's Creed Unity E3 2014 World Premiere Cinematic Trailer

I See A Darkness by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
May 31 2026

I liked this quite a bit, alt country is just emo.

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Jun 01 2026

Just a fantastic album, love some gloomy goth shit

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Jun 02 2026

Getting a lot of albums I listened to extensively in my teens lately, still really like this one but compared to the string of bangers we've had this is not quite a 5

The Man Who by Travis
Jun 03 2026

Never heard of this before, decent sad 90s rock but nothing super exciting

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jun 04 2026

Little bit too noodley but obviously one of the greats

Jun 05 2026

Very good but the instrumentation is a little too all over the place for the coveted 5 star banger

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Jun 07 2026

this is why people don't like country

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams
Jun 11 2026

i can see a version of this I like but it has a bit too much country twang and it's a little too simple

With The Beatles by Beatles
Jun 12 2026

it's ephemeral, i've listened to this multiple times in the past and again now and still don't remember a single thing about it

Low by David Bowie
Jun 15 2026

It's alright, none of the hits just some experimenting
