1001 Albums Summary

Als ik de teksten meelees zie ik wel in waarom er Bob Dylan zo'n heldenstatus heeft. Stilistisch sterk vind ik, lekker geëngageerd en wat provocerend. Ik kan me goed voorstellen dat dat in 1963 flink is ingeslagen. Muzikaal voor mij persoonlijk vrij oninteressant, qua zang en qua compositie. Niet dat ik een expert ben, maar ik zal zijn muziek niet zomaar meer opzetten.

OK music, forgettable though. Maybe in 1995 this was very fresh, but for my current 2026 palette it's just not interesting enough to stand out. I'd have loved for this to completely suck, just so I could sign off with 'this was garbage'.

Very interesting album from a genre I literally have never had on my radar. Bookmarked for repeats later on

Fantastic. Cohen sounds like a poet, and I like his singing far better than Bob Dylan's (sue me)

Fun album, but haven't really done a close listening this time. I will be saving it for a later time, though, so that's a good sign.
