Revolver by Beatles
May 21 2026

i know i tend to get to music later than other people do, but i seriously don’t know how i let revolver (or the beatles in general) slip past me. listening to revolver confirms what i have already heard about it- it’s a trailblazer. i found myself listening to it and recognizing how it still influences a lot of music today. off first listen, my favorite tracks were i’m only sleeping, eleanor rigby, and got to get you into my life

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
May 22 2026

Give it up for star vocalist Cass Elliot, obvi!! Inarguably a classic. Arguably? A little boring. At times, the harmonies could get a little sickeningly sweet and fatiguing to me, but they’re dreamlike and gorgeous. Standout songs for me upon first listen are of course California Dreamin, Straight Shooter, and Got a Feelin. I’d like to listen again, but I don’t see this becoming a staple in my collection anytime soon. The Beach Boys just do it better imo.
