rating albums that feature both songs you definitely fuck with and songs you find simply unpalatable always feels like an impossible feat to me, and yet it’s often how it goes with RHCP… gotta keep on rocking on

first time hearing the band (tad bit on the nose lol) which might say something about me, but it just was not for me.
i enjoyed tears of rage but as it went on i found myself itching to get through the album. though i can see why some might enjoy their sound, very little about it stuck out, and many songs were just not pleasant to my ears.

jazzy, psychedelic, groovy, rocky. enjoyed many songs individually but the album as a whole felt a bit scattered and at times inharmonious. some real stand out songs on here and a really good introduction to the electric prunes, but what the fuck are songs like the toonerville trolley? sadly these odd songs kind of took away from an otherwise great album

gave it a full fair listen on a day of good sun and even better mood. while i can appreciate it for what it is, Bayou Country was in my opinion, just alright. unmistakably American, however
pure weird goodness. at times intense, in all the right ways. some songs felt like a real trip. to some, but certainly not many ears, Tago Mago might be beyond enjoyable, and that arguably makes it even better. a solid experimental album to me.
class & gas. may be the bias speaking, but anyone who reduces this classic to muzak simply lacks the ear for it. a delicious listening experience all around

pretty fucking good. and my appreciation only grows with each listen. stand out song: road, river and rail. which is also the least liked on the album... poor taste on my part? we’ll never know
why is try not to breathe so good? a very solid album. enjoyed more than i expected
expected to feel more strongly about it but surprisingly enjoyed a couple songs. 3 stars?
