Cherub Rock is an all-time banger. The guitar riff will make the hair on your neck stand up. But look, I didn’t really like these guys when they were hot in the 90s and Billy Corgan has proven himself to be at least a relative of the guy I always kind of thought he was so…🤷‍♂️

The piano on Gotta Get Up is 100% “oh this is a beatles song” so i was interested to read that Nilsson was another 5th beatle. I recognized Without You and of course Coconut (like borrrrderline racist lmao). meh…ok fine. Jump Into the Fire is legit interesting but not much else here for me.

Solid pop album. Probably won’t ever intentionally listen to them again, but I was surprised at how good it was.

I had a nice time listening to this record. If you make me choose between listening to like, The Killers or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, i’m going Yeahs every time

instead of this i’d give any Teenage Bottlerocket album a listen. i’m guessing they won’t be featured on this lsit, and they’re worthy of some attention imo

great when you’re like 12 years old in 1987 and never heard legit punk music with a message, not so great if you want something that’s not totally nihilistic with any actual musicality at all. just a big musical troll job. and remember, you gotta pay the troll toll if you want to get into that boy’s soul

this is a great album. neutral milk hotel meets tom waits. definitely putting this in the rotation and will look out for it on vinyl
