Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Jun 24 2026

Acoustic guitar and vocals. This album was never popular in its day. It gained a following many years later, after Nick Drake's death. This is the 1970's equivalent to Bon Iver and Jose Gonzalez, the moody, depressed, acoustic signer/songwriter vibe. 7/10

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Jun 25 2026

This album is just great. I was not always a big fan of Led Zeppelin, but so many of these songs have endured the years. A big piece of why this is a 5-star album is that I can hear the sound of later bands in these songs, particularly Spoon. Rock would not be the same today without this album.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Jun 26 2026

This album definitely still holds up. As a whole it's not as good as Demon Days and I also feel like it has too many songs. It has a case of quantity over quality. But the ones that are good are still good after so many years, and this was unique music for its time.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Jul 16 2026

I have never been against this band, but to me they don't really shine out. It's all pretty laid back, chill rock. It sounds like cowboy rock to me, which isn't a bad thing. It's just not ever going to be a top pick. Reminds me of Khruangbin.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Jul 17 2026

This album is so cool. Is does kind of all blend together, but every moment has something interesting to listen to. And it has one of the best songs ever written with Chicago.

Moon Safari by Air
Jul 20 2026

This will always be a perfect album. I will never get tired of it.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 21 2026

Would I listen to this all the time? No. But the best songs on here (Tricky and Walk this Way) I will never get tired of. For 90s hip hop, I don't know that it gets better than this.

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Jul 22 2026

I pretty much like everything about this except for the vocals. I know that this singer's style is kind of a signature of the band, but that's the main reason I never really got into them. It takes a rock band that could sound really cool and just makes them sound silly.

Jul 23 2026

I do like it. This was an English dance rock style band that I had never listened to. It reminds me of Does It Offend You, Yeah?. I was getting tired of the noise by the end of the album.
