The Bends by Radiohead
Aug 04 2026

Heard before. Definitely one of the better Radiohead records, a ton of bangers like Black Star, Telex, Just, My Iron Lung, with just a couple duds.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Aug 05 2026

While I can see how this would be a seminal album in the 90s, I simply can’t be bothered with it nowadays. It’s overstuffed with songs that all share painfully similar structure and riffs, and Corgan’s voice gets ear piercing towards the end of the record. Cherub Rock is great though.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Aug 06 2026

A really fun romp! Tracks definitely get repetitive over time and I’d love to see more lead playing from Niles like on Savoir Fare, but as is, this is just a lovely little groove that does what it sets out to do and does it well.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Aug 08 2026

Heard before. I mean, it's a masterpiece. What else is there to say?

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Aug 08 2026

Heard before. Just absolute peak jazz-fusion. What else could you want in a somber, ambient exploration of sound?

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Aug 09 2026

It took a minute to fully click with me, but once it did, it was all over. While I don't think it has too many memorable peaks, the atmosphere Treasure creates is simply brilliant and features some of the most gorgeous soundscapes of the time.

Microshift by Hookworms
Aug 10 2026

While the second half loses a bit of the quality that defined the first, Microshift is an incredibly tasty mix of krautrock and psychedelia that trades between moments of sheer synthetic beauty and anthemic rock hooks with deft ease.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Aug 11 2026

Sufjan captures a space somewhere between aw inspiring urban grandiosity and painfully sincere personal moments across this stunningly composed project.

Black Metal by Venom
Aug 12 2026

After a great opening track, it devolves into fairly standard NWOBHM with bad production quality. It's better as a historical artifact than a record you listen to.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Aug 13 2026

Heard before. This is the Kendrick project that slowly seems to lose a bit of luster over time for me, but the peaks of this project are still some of the best of any rap record from the 2010s.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Aug 14 2026

A smooth, evocative soul record carried by Womack's phenomenal voice.

1999 by Prince
Aug 15 2026

While it isn’t Prince’s best, it’s a damn fine collection of tunes for anyone to get on the dance floor.
