storytelling 100% some of the lyrics had me gaggeddddd.

i love when he says OwhhhhH! I really really like this album very much i think it’s wonderful and fun and grooovayyy, favorite track will always be bang a gong.

issuing a disclaimer before my review: i’ve decided to be more stingy with my fives, coat of many colors and electric warrior are ACTUALLY a 4 for me . and I’m going to save my fives for albums that really stir me. melodic and beautiful, the lyrics are poetry and i’m not always like always sure what’s going on like. narrative wise but it reminds me of folk tales and obv very heavy with biblical references the background vocals on so long, Marianne are so lovely when they come in after “and the angels forget to pray for us” chefs kisssss i love in a couple of songs how the blonde woman is referred to as a storm. blondes have more fun joke here coconut rice with egg favorites: suzanne, the stranger song, hey that’s no way to say goodbye

i was determined not to like this album but i still liked it, i feel like that means something

i liked it okay, i liked to see how it got izzy groovin but it didn’t have the same effect on me :( i liked the lyrics because i was like heyyyy what are they on about? especially razor boy come and take all your fancy things away

no doubt there are some insane bangers on this album and the low rating simply is because this could have been an email like . it should have been half an hour long, but it was in fact an hour. I loved several songs but the songs i didn’t love i was like .__. I think i have to rate a two. sorreyyyyy

this one is soooooooooo close to a five for me i’m just not sure yet so. 4. but i love this album it fucking rocks, i like that some songs are hard as fuckk and others a little more traditionally indie,

some of my favoriteeee john prine songs on here most notably your flag decal won’t get you into heaven anymore which is my number one argument for pre 9-11 country. as someone who grew up with people saying “yeah i like any genre except country” i’m going to hurt you, say what you mean (post 9-11 country) john prine i love you poet i miss you
