it's not brothers in arms ... but waterline and sultans are such classics ... i remember this being a regular spin when i was a little kid, it came out when i was 6 or 7 ... def a little more twang to this than i remember ...

my 2nd fave 80's cure album ... 100 years, the hanging garden, a strange day ... such classics of my teen angst melodrama ... truly an underrated album. solid 4.

cinnamon girl. great. down by the river - single most overrated song ever recorded. why is this song over 9 minutes long? the rest - sub par filler. i do not understand the love for neil young - especially this early.

popping this album up the day after Dolly passed feels a bit tacky - it was a mid country album at best. also, i hate most country.

it is amazing to hear the studio album and wash a lifetime of horrible bar bands renditions of these classic tunes from your memory ...

nostalgia wasn't enough to prop this one up ...

man, i wore the grooves off this 35 years ago when it was new ... this is the birth of madchester. the stone roses might have started the push, but this landed it. paul ryder might not have been Mani ... but he always played exactly the right thing, at exactly the right time. 10/10

eh ... i can tolerate the banana album in very small doses ... the rest of the catalog aged like fine milk. meh at best.

i've heard this a billion times ... hotel california is over played and over appreciated. life in the fast lane is almost as bad. the rest is filler. the eagle's stance on how the internet affects ancient music policies is atrocious. 1 star out of spite.

i love this album ... probably my favorite pixies album ... sadly i wasn't really into them at the time, but really realized what i was missing out on after they were done ... like i knew the songs 97x played a lot ... but the album cuts are just as good as the "hits" ... easily a 4.
