1001 Albums Summary

Probably my favorite Bowie album. Even better than Ziggy Stardust. Life on Mars probably his best track in Bowie's catalog. Even love the weird B side stuff like Warhols, holes, holes. I mean, come on, Changes, Oh You Pretty Things, Kooks. It's an absolute masterpiece of an album. Everything I love about Bowie, 70's glam, rock and roll, theater, camp, art. 10/10. Perfect.

Absolutely incredible. I love 15 minute groove funk Afrobeat jam session sessions. It reminds me of Santana and the Dead and in the best possible way. Polyrhythmic grooving alive response gets the body going. This could literally reanimate a corpse. 9.5/10

All I can really say is that this album is really really well produced. Sounds fucking great. The album itself though. It’s fine. I guess. I didn’t hate it. I didn’t like it. Kind of pleasant in a soft rock piano and saxophone way. Somewhere halfway between Billy Joel and Pink Floyd but way worse than both. 6.7/10
