Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Sep 25 2026

Enjoyed a few individual songs but struggled with the full album. Listening context may be important, it’s not an album for first thing in the morning.

Sep 27 2026

Certainly my favourite band of all time and probably my fav album. Such a brilliant reflection of teenage life in the 00s, and I love all the Sheffield references. Alex Turner’s lyrics are genius as is the music. I struggle to believe that it was written by a group of teenagers. The individual songs are incredible and there isn’t a single track on the album that I skip. If only there more recent music was this good!

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Sep 28 2026

Completely fine. A couple of good songs. I’d be unlikely to listen to this as an album again.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Sep 29 2026

I hadn’t heard of this artist before. Chill easy listening. Settled my nervous system after a busy day.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Sep 30 2026

I was surprised by how many songs I knew on this album. Some of the songs I liked, some I did not (Everybody has a dream). Also the slow 80’s Sax gives me the ick. 2.5/5

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Oct 03 2026

Giving less-good Beatles vibes. No standout songs. Didn’t really enjoy and wouldn’t listen again.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 04 2026

I thoroughly enjoyed the second half of this album, from Downward Train onwards. Will listen again.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Oct 06 2026

This album made me wonder about Mick Jagger and his relationship with his mum! Enjoyed some songs, I can imagine it being great in its day. 2.4/5

Smile by Brian Wilson
Oct 07 2026

If I wanted to listen to The Beach Boys I would listen to their original albums.

Harvest by Neil Young
Oct 08 2026

Love this album, some great tracks. It’s aged well. I find the lyrics interesting and I enjoy how the instruments build throughout the album. Looking forward to my next listen.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Oct 09 2026

Enjoyed. Obviously recognised a few songs. She was a beautiful voice which sounded quite different on a few tracks. 3.3/5

1999 by Prince
Oct 11 2026

Prince is a great musician but was disappointed by the lack of music on this album. The electro-pop is not my vibe.

Metallica by Metallica
Oct 13 2026

Very pleased I’ve listened to this. Metallica are a band that I thought I’d enjoy the more mainstream singles but not the albums, I was wrong. It gives Led Zep vibes at times and the lead singer has a great voice. 3.7/5

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio
Oct 15 2026

I appreciate the idea of Jazz, especially when live, but it actually makes me feel anxious and on edge.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Oct 17 2026

I like this album. My main criticism is that some of the songs blend together. 3.6/5

The Score by Fugees
Oct 20 2026

Enjoyed. Particularly the familiar sample and mixed-gender vocals. 3..4/5

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Oct 23 2026

Really enjoyed this album. The tracks are very unique, which keeps it interesting. Loved the vocals and instrumentals. I recognise a lot of songs from film and TV but the whole album reminds me of a Tarantino soundtrack. Looking forward to my next listen.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel

Blackstar by David Bowie
Oct 27 2026

I strongly believe that each artist should only be allowed their best two or three albums on this list, to stop shite like this getting on. If this wasn’t Bowie it would not be on this list!

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Oct 28 2026

I imagine that this was great at the time and inspired many artists. Now I find it fairly boring. All the tracks are very similar. I didn’t realise a lot of the songs are covers! Feels like cheating!

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Oct 29 2026
Brothers by The Black Keys
Nov 01 2026

Great album. Can only be described as ‘proper’ music.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Nov 04 2026

Much improved on a second listen. Gave led-zep vibes at times. Not sure about the rock flute.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Nov 05 2026

Only great albums can be tolerated/enjoyed during bad times. This one got me through a day of my child vomiting everywhere, and I’d still happily listen again today.
