Aja by Steely Dan

Can't be the only one who thought Steely Dan was just one guy.

Play by Moby

Would've worked better as an EP or short album, it gets the point across within the first half and feels tedious after that. Still a pretty decent album overall, just needed a shave.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Sep 25 2026

28 minutes of very fantastical folk, incredible instrumentation and harmonies, a simply excellent record with great whimsy, writing and production.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens

Already had listened to, but still as immaculate as ever, one of the best pop albums of the 21st century.

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.

A landmark in hip-hop, absolutely essential for the genre, although not perfect.

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Oct 04 2026

Never been much of a Country guy, and this isn't changing that. Although I'm still optimistic that something may come and change my mind.

C'est Chic by CHIC

Never cared much for Disco, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality here, mainly because of the instrumentation at play, which is great. Especially the bass, and as a bassist myself, I can appreciate the excellent musicianship. Just an incredibly solid Disco record.

The title is a little bit of a fib, not only is The Hives not my new favorite band, but they're a pretty bland one at that.

OK by Talvin Singh

With Shpongle and now this... Totally digging Worldbeat infused Drum and Bass.

Incredibly interesting, creative, calming, this isn't an album I'd cherry pick tracks out of to listen to, but more of an experience to be had.

Goo by Sonic Youth

This was my introduction to what would end up being one of my favorite bands of all time. The band's nosiest yet but still manages to keep its mainstream appeal. Bravo.

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Oct 18 2026

Surprising that it still holds up after 70+ years, I got to give it to Frankie here that he made something that can stand the test of time. Although not mind-blowing by any means, it's still a rather good time.
