I know it's a cliche but it's a record you very clearly need to be smoking pot to enjoy fully. Weed gives me a headache so this record came across more like your standard Hits + Filler LP. Not a terrible experience but I won't return to it.
Would I add it to my modest vinyl collection? No. Unlike the baby boomers of the time I can listen to Woody Guthire, Leadbelly, Charley Patton, and countless others with a few swipes of the finger. I don't need Bob's 1960s rehash of their works. I will give this record some stars for its massive influence on the following decade, but Dylan became the musician he was meant to be *after* he plugged in his guitar.
