Dum Dum Diddle.... need I say more..... Ah well. It has several number one all time super hits that are hard to ignore. Even when you don't like the 70th dance music style of Abba you have to admit that Benny and Björn have been geniuses over a long time. Name any party that doesn't get better when they play Dancing Queen? It's as classy as IKEA.
Very depressing - Wife said, if you really want to listen to that grab your headphones and make sure there are no knifes or guns around. - Guess that said it all.
OK, so you made me listen to it. I don't particularly hate it but am I a fan? No. Nice coffee store background happy music. I think the only Songs from him I truly know is "Brown Eyed Girl" and Wild Night". But remarkably so, all the sings on this one sound similar. I guess he has a style. - Whatever
I kinda liked it. Never heard it before, The Yes sound we know from "Owner of a Lonely Heart" that became famous in the 80th is pretty notable. Love the base. And Andersons voice is very recognizable. Interesting concept only having 6 songs (but then several have 2 or 3 segments.)
I love them. They are so funky and cool and party like. Crazy, weird, loud and fun.
I knew about two songs of the album that play on the classic radio stations every now and then. And while I do like them I would probably not look for them very often. It's a nice and chill sound for a summer evening with some whine and cheese. Similar to the Eagles or Steve Miller band I'd say. - Not my usual cup of tea
I am simply not a fan. He may be one of the greatest but I cannot listen to him for more than 5 minutes. So I just give him 1 Star.
Kicking off with the immigrant song.... the signature sound that everyone knows is as good as ever. And .... the rest of the album is crap in my opinion. Sorry not my type of music.
Its a classic seventieth album. Not bad and a couple all time greatest. But is it truly exciting? Does it make me want to listen to it again? After a while I feel they all sound the same. So I don't have a need to listen to it again... Hence a 2 star.

I love David Byrne and the Talking Heads. I don't think I ever heard the whole album but it is consistent and funky and edgy. I think I would want to hear it again some time. Maybe not tomorrow or next week, but I keep it in my list of music I like.
Listening to the album after many years again brought back so many memories. It truly is one of the greatest. So many remarkable hits. And those you don't know are just super chill to listen too. The lyrics are timeless. And Mark Knopfler's skills are just out of this world. 5 Stars

Whenever I listen to the album I find myself thinking, are they all in a race to see who can finish the song first? Eddy and Alex always neck on neck, fast, furious and powerful, with David jumping in here and there just to let them know they are not alone, with his unforgettable high pitch. Recorded in 3 weeks mostly as a live set. 5 world hits and the most recognizable instrumental intro...... what a debut for a band.
I am very sorry. But this was an album I simply could not listen to. I am not sure if you all know the Jimmy Fallon Tonight show "Do not play list". That would be in the top 10 of that list. What is that? And who the heck is Tim Buckley? And who put that on the 1001 albums list? So many questions.
Reminds me bit about the Cranberries. Post Punk early Goth. Yeah not bad but also not very remarkable. Pretty repetitive. I am sure they have influenced a lot of bands especially in UK. Some may have done even better than them, e.g. The Cure, Bowie, Sisters of Mercy or Guano Apes.
I know I should like it more and give it all the stars it deserves. It's the effing Doors. Everyone knows thm and respects them. But, to be honest, it all sounds the same and the recording quality is underwhelming. Even for their time. I could not see myself enjoying it a bit. 2 Stars

OMG. What a shit show. They call them an "English alternative rock band?" All songs lack power and the whiney voice of the front man "Anderson" was unbearable after about 6 songs. After 10 songs and a few fast forwards I gave up.
He may be an exceptional guitar player, a historic icon and the first for may things that come to mind when thinking about the 70th. Lots of people learned and copied from him. So I give him that. However I could not listen to the whole album. Maybe I need to get stoned first to understand it.
Well. Its popular and catchy and I knew a few songs. - Makes me want to buy a 60th Chevelle or a BelAir and cruise down Hollywood Boulevard. But I won't remember it tomorrow. What I do remember is her collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys in "What have I done to deserve this" Top 1001 Album? Maybe not for me.
You Irish? You drunk? You Pirates? I got bored after a few songs. Certainly cannot listen to 20 of them in a row. I did like "the Irish Rover" though. There must be hundreds of little bands that aren't any worse or better. Who gave these guys a record deal?
That was a bit too boring for me. I fell asleep. So I give them 2 Stars in case someone has a hard time falling asleep.
Name is familiar but do I know them? Slow Hip Hop and blues. Probably influenced a lot of bands. Talented maybe. Not my thing though.
How on earth is this a bucket list kinda album? Thats like saying you have to ride in a 2CV once in your lifetime to appreciate a modern Audi. Waste of time. I'd rather listen to DJ Ötzi at this point.
Cannot argue with the success. So many popular songs on that album. And even the ones I did not know are clearly Taylor. Can be a bit boring to listen to too many similar songs but hey who said it need to be all in one sitting?
She is one of the greatest. And it's nice and she just has this iconic voice. I like other popular songs of her more.
The start into the 90th. What a milestone in music history. Everything about it was remarkable. I wish it would have lasted a little longer.
pling pling pling on the guitar. Some not so memorable lyrics. Nothing in that albums strikes a nerve in me. Sorry could not bring myself to listen to it all. It was just sooooooooooo bad.
I would give it 10 out of 5 if I could - what can I say I love them and Angus Young is a god. B in B is probably my most listened to album of all times. Right before Metalica's Black Album and Iron Maidens Number of the Beast. To me it's the greatest.
Another one of the 60th bands that seem to have released 50 or so LPs? Man what a waste of time. You would have thought they may get better over time. I give it 2 Stars but only because of the song "Do you remember Walter" Obviously it must be about me.
Never heard of them before. Not bad. Interesting catchy tunes. Some are a bit too weird. Middle of the road electronic sounds.
Never heard of them before but I guess that was the other side of the coin - You either rode a Vespa and listened to the Beatles or you had a glimpse into the 70th..... Not for me
couldn't listen to that all the way to the end... What a boring crap. Why is that a top 1000 Album?
If you need some quite background music to have a romantic dinner, maybe thats your choice. Ah whatever. I give it 2 stars.
A bit boring and uneventful. Not very memorable. 5 min later I already forgot what I was listened to. I would not recognize a single track if it would be played to me in the next few weeks. I guess that qualifies for a 2?
1988. Tracy arrived on the big stage, sold 6x platinum and got a lot of grammys. She has been successful ever since. Back then she raised awareness of racial injustice like no one else I knew then. She paved the way for a lot of people following in her wake. Think about i.e. Alanis Morissette. I like to listen to that album every now and then.
It's a good album. She only had a very few hits back in the days that I can remember. Her style is unmatched. She is unique and I can listen to it w/out the urge to skip to the next song quickly. I call that success.
