Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers

I really thoroughly enjoyed this album. I liked the vocals, I like the instrumentals, it makes me want to check out more from this band. I was sad to read about the disappearance of the main lyricist before this album though. My favorite tracks were A Design for Life, Enola/Alone, Small Black Flowers The Grow In The Sky, The Girl Who Wanted to Be God, Interiors, Further Away, and No Surface All Feeling. I gave it the big like on Spotify. Overall very solid, liked it a lot!

Graceland by Paul Simon
Mar 03 2022

Overall I really liked this album. I think it has some good folk vibes, and I was reading about it so I learned a bit about South African township music, which the album was heavily inspired from. I appreciate that Paul Simon used prominent artists that were a part of South African township music as features in his album. My favorite track on the album as a whole is probably Graceland, the title track. Overall, very strong, nice to listen to, but not life-changing. This one got the big like.

Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield
Mar 04 2022

I liked this, I was honestly not really expecting to like this but I really did. I liked the varieties and the sounds that reappeared throughout the record. I think at the first listen I liked Part 1 more than Part 2, but I appreciate how it all connects together. I ended up giving the big like to the 2003 version, as it has sections as separate tracks, and as much as I liked the thing as a whole, it's much easier to integrate it with the rest of my daily listening music as individual tracks. I ended up listening to The Sailor's Hornpipe over and over again, which occurs at the very last part of Part 2.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Mar 05 2022

I liked this a lot! I was a fan of Amy Winehouse before, but like a lot of artists I haven't ever listened to her albums all the way through, I just listened to individual songs. I was really able to hear the Frank Sinatra influence on the album, particularly on Moody's Mood For Love and No Greater Love. There were some much more boring tracks, but overall solid album.

Marquee Moon by Television
Mar 06 2022

I'm prefacing this by saying that I haven't in the past listened to that much rock music, I have a bit but not as a main genre for me. I thought that this album was kind of boring. The backing tracks got really repetitive, and the vocals didn't really add that much to the music for me. I can absolutely see how this album influenced a lot of other music, and reading the Wikipedia article I could absolutely see the influences on the other artists that were mentioned. However, If I was picking an album to listen to, it would not be this one. My favorite tracks were probably Friction, Prove It, and Torn Curtain.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Mar 07 2022

Overall pretty solid, I liked it. Again, I just wish that the tracks were separated but oh well. My favorite track was probably Black Sabbath. Overall pretty solid and I enjoyed listening to it.

Overall pretty good, there were a few tracks that I liked, and a few that I wasn't such a huge fan of. I think I would listen to this album again, but probably not until I ran out of albums that I liked better. My favorite track was probably Mr. Churchill Says, but I also liked Plastic Man, Shangri-La, and Yes Sir, No Sir.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Mar 10 2022

Literally incredible. Zero skips.

In Utero by Nirvana
Mar 11 2022

It was okay, I thought that the vocals overall were a little bit lacking though like I thought that the mix was kind of weird. I think that there were good melodies and good instrumentals and drums, however, I just thought that the mix of the vocals didn't really fit with the rest of the track. Overall pretty good. I think that my favorite tracks were Heart-Shaped Box, All Apologies, and Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle. I thought that the album got better as it went along, but maybe I just need to hear it more than once.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 14 2022

My opinion of this album is shaped by the great first half, a very disappointing middle, and a redemption right at the end with the last track. The last half was just very underwhelming, especially given the great first half.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

love these fun funky guys

Third/Sister Lovers by Big Star

these guys were depressed. Couldn't listen to the whole album bc parts weren't available. Not bad though but not my fav

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
Mar 21 2022

Very 1960s, some bops, and overall good music objectively, but I probably wouldn't really come back it again.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Mar 22 2022

I loved this album, every time I felt like it was getting a little stale, they brought a completely new idea out of nowhere. I loved looking at all the different samples. Favorite tracks: Egg Man, The Sounds of Science, Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun, and Hello Brooklyn

Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Apr 21 2022

The hour that I spent listening to this album went incredibly quickly. It's not my favorite ever, but overall pretty good chill music. I think that my favorite tracks were You Know It's True, If I Were With Her Now, and Sway.
