The Suburbs
Arcade FireBesides a few stand-out moments, this bloated album consists of mid tempo cheesy pop melodies paired with moderately interesting introspective lyrics placed over top of vaguely emotional instrumentals. Also I'm pissed off.

Despite its label of "noise rock", this album never encourages the listener to tune out. The indistinguishable vocals aid the album in becoming a discordant parody of rock tropes. With enough fresh bizarre riffs and melodies to keep each track distinct from the last, the fun of this album is the chaos it creates, and seeing just what it will throw at you next.
Ooh wee ooh

This Hendrix guy is like pretty good at guitar
This album is best when it is groovy but somewhat unconventional. When it is not somewhat unconventional, it is simply groovy. How quaint.
Around the second half of the album, these dudes start sounding like what those corporate Christian rock hacks wish they sounded like. Which is like funny cause of their name and stuff. Somehow, this album is able to make me appreciate that signature bright, sappy but upbeat, oversaturated sound by weaving it through simple yet satisfying and compelling melodies. But much more than that is offered on this well-paced album, where each track feels distinct from the last.

Aimless musical meandering with only somewhat noteworthy production.
A decent collection of rock-and-roll/blues inspired tracks that mix well with the album's more psychedelic side. Somewhat reminiscent of mid-era Beatles.
Although this album consists nearly entirely of melancholic storytelling ballads, it does not overstay its welcome and is able to successfully convey a unique feel.
The most mediocre an album can get, but what else did you expect when the British attempt hip hop????
"Yeah, I like their earlier stuff better."
He's back.
While many insist this album was when Metallica "sold out," few will point out that they were sellouts from the start. Keep in mind they changed the name of their debut album from the daring, bold, somewhat profound "Metal Up Your Ass" to the downright wimpy "Kill 'Em All". Corporate hacks!
Groovy & Pretentious
Surprising because I usually hate this kind of crap. But the songwriting talent is pretty noteworthy here. The album's other strength is its brevity.
The only noteworthy part of this album is the riff from White Girl. Other than that it drags through samey mediocre melodies and riffs, but not in an overtly offensive way.
Ooh wee ooh
Likely the most 80s album of all time.
