I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You
Aretha FranklinDAMN URETHRA
DAMN URETHRA
i see the appeal, but it's not for me. i'm already not a metal fan, and i didn't think the vocals meshed well with the instrumentals. regardless, i can't overstate the impact of this album (the first heavy metal album!!) and i do feel like after giving this a listen, i'm walking away with a better appreciation for black sabbath.
i won't lie, i was disappointed by the lack of vocals, but this was a solid album full of groovy bops and i'm glad to put names to some songs i've heard before!
not what i was expecting from the beach boys, but it was a very diverse selection and i enjoyed the vibes. would love to revisit this album while stoney pony
this was a really fun listen! the title track was my favorite
bit confused by how many versions of the same songs are on here, but this is full of bangers
somehow heroin is simultaneously the low and the high point of this album. it's an enjoyable listen, but i'm not sure what's so groundbreaking about it. still enjoyed it either way, tho european son is evil
DAMN URETHRA
across the universe did it better
said ooo girl fuck me like an electric eel
perfectly pleasant, decent yacht rock
it insists upon itself
instrumentals are sick but i don't care for bowie vocals. i think i gotta put him in the same category as the beatles, where i can vibe to covers of their songs but i don't wanna listen to them. also the whole sexing 14 year olds definitely sours him for me
listenable groovaceous dad rock which i must respect but i just don't care for this dude's voice. i begrudgingly err on the side of not liking it. 3 stars i weep
it's the beatles meets eagles and i love it
funkadelic babey!!
a classic. 3.5 but i'll round up to be kind :-)
unfortunately i was not able to listen to the full album on apple music but i did listen to the first song. i can appreciate this for being groundbreaking and ahead of its time but.... i did not like it lol
this is like. okay: imagine you're me, working at a restaurant that tries a little too hard to act more upscale than it is. like an entree is $22 and the owner is an alcoholic so we have so many different kinds of fancy liquors but the servers are still wearing t-shirts yknow. and it's december 9th. and i'm in charge of the music for the dinner shift. and i'm already at the point where if i hear one more christmas song i will go batshit. but i know the owner will write me up if i don't put on holiday music. so this is what i'll put on. do you understand?
more like boringhead hehehehehehehahahaha
man. i wanna love stevie wonder, yknow? he's talented. perfectly enjoyable. i just fear i don't GET him. i took a point away for isn't she lovely. gave one back for black man. it's a great album and i totally respect it. i just can't see myself coming back it it. i am sorry mister wonder.
well. it sure is!
yall would rather listen to the beatles over this??? if it weren't for that final stretch of instrumentals plus happy birthday johnny (whatever the hell that was) this wouldve been an easy 5 for me. it's not perfect but i enjoyed it enough to put it up there. i think i'm still gonna give it a five ~anyway~ because the first like eighty or so minutes were pretty great. let it down and art of dying were the two biggest standouts for me.
felt like simon and garfunkel but without the greatest parts of simon and garfunkel. idk. i didn't dislike it though
i just. i don't like it :(
i put off listening to this because i thought it was the beastie boys lol but this is delicious
yeah this was pretty good! pleased to discover it wasn't mumble rap cause the release date had me nervous lol. it had moments of sounding like soundcloud rapper-y but it was good!
it was fine yknow? good stuff. weird and not good stuff. didn't care for how the album ended
very enjoyable, she has a gorgeous voice. particularly enjoyed one last dance as a man can't stop laughing while he tells her that her husband is dead lol
i like this dude. cheers neil young
