Mostly distorted guitar and drums but some clean tones in there too. I think I had heard most of these songs before with knowing they were all from this one album. I really enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best ever
The all time hits are as good as always, but I’m surprised by how good the less famous songs are too
A mix of hip hop, funk, and soul. The album touches on oppression by the system and how the fight for equality won’t end with just one generation. Relevant themes when it was released and now as well
Aretha Franklin is a legend for a reason. This album was amazing with excellent music accompanying her vocals
I didn’t like this album as much as I thought I would. The high point are really high, but the rest was technically impressive but didn’t wow me
I’ve heard the big hit but also “Perfect Day”. I really like this album because it sounds like early New Wave but there’s less electronic synths that true new wave
I didn’t think I was going to like this album, but I was blown away. Leonard Cohen has an amazingly powerful voice and the backing music complements him perfectly
This album grew on me as I listened to it, but I’m unlikely to listen to it again. My favorite song “Fistful of Love” was different from the rest and most of the time I was distracted by the singer’s vibrato. Still a very technically impressive performance
I saw the movie before listening to the album and am pretty sure the songs aren’t all the same. That said the singles from this album are amazing and the other songs are solid if not as memorable
I listened to roughly half this album drunk on moonshine, but I’m making a concerted effort to be more critical. This was a good album and I would listen to it again, but most of it didn’t stand out. Further, I don’t like Eric Clapton because he’s awful even though he’s a great guitarist.
I really liked this album. It hit the perfect mix of grunge and almost every song had an excellent bass line. While I wouldn’t expect everyone to like it, I can see myself listening to it again and again
Despite my Elvis phase as a kid, this wasn’t my favorite album. I’d be happy if it was playing in the background because it was good, but it isn’t something I’m going to listen to on repeat
This might be one of the best live albums I’ve ever listened to. I enjoyed it thoroughly and plan on listening to more Sam Cooke in the future
I enjoyed most of this album and would be happy to put it on in the background. By the end, it did feel like it was dragging on a bit too long
A solid hip hop album but it didn’t really stand out to me. It’s possible that’s because it was a very influential album so people copied their style though. I would listen to it again
I liked this album and was hedging between 3 and 4; it was sort of early new wave and had a lot I liked about it. What clinched it as a 3 is that The Jam have other songs I like a lot more that aren’t from this album
This was an interesting album. It was a lot of electronic music with many elements that I normally like. The beginning didn’t grab me, and neither did the rest, but I enjoyed it the whole time
From the minute I put this album on, I was having a good time. It was early 90s hip hop with a strong funky beat and some heavy jazz influences
I’m surprised that I hadn’t listened to this before considering how much I like Nevermind. This is a great album, but I don’t think I like it as much as that one though. That said, I can see myself listening to this again and again
An amazing album. Every song had a groovy bass line, catchy vocals, and was a blast to listen too
I enjoyed this album, but it didn’t stand out to me. When Spotify accidentally switched to radio based on it, I didn’t notice and started liking it more
A solid album of really fun music. I can’t see myself listening to it again though except as background music at a party. It was good though
I liked this album in the same way that I like the Moody Blues. It’s not music to get you pumped, but it’s a consistent album throughout with some really amazing moments
A very weird album to listen to. It definitely sounded like all his movie soundtracks- which is a positive - but the subject matter was a weird choice at times. I’m not sure I’d go back and listen to it, but it was well made
I just didn’t enjoy this album. It wasn’t bad, and I thought I was going to like it based on its description, but it may have been too experimental in places
This was a pretty good album that I enjoyed. Punk without much (if any pop), I can see myself listening to this one again
I have a feeling that the more I listen to this album, the more I’ll like it. On my first listen, it had enough high points that I don’t remember the lows, but it was by no means perfect
A very good album, especially for a live album. I’d definitely give it another listen - excellent guitar and backing music and creative use of a talk box
I’ll probably listen to this one again. It sounded like early punk and was raw without being overly discordant. Plus the radio suggested for the album is pretty good too
I didn’t think I was going to like this album when I started it, but after it picked up a minute in I started to enjoy it. It reminds of Simon and Garfunkel type music and I’d probably enjoy this again when I’m in that sort of mood
I was excited to listen to this because it was the first I’ve gotten that I’ve heard before. I was surprised by how underwhelmed I was however. It was good, but nothing I’d rush to listen to again
I enjoyed every second of this album. Most of these songs aren’t their big hits so I was surprised by that
Another really good album. Early punk music with cleaner sounds than usual. I enjoyed every song and look forward to listening to them again
I’m giving this a three, but it’s a low three. An electronic-euro music album, I know I would like this if I were in the right mood, but that would probably be if I wanted background music
Absolutely excellent disco album. Le Freak is an all time classic and I’m ashamed I didn’t know they were the band to sing it until now
An okay album. It had some good songs, but none that grabbed me. I wouldn’t rush to change what I was listening to though
A solid hip hop album from a founder of the Wu-Tang Clan. I enjoyed it but it didn’t stand out. I might listen to it again
A very interesting album. I’m not sure if I enjoyed this is the way I did all the others, but it was intriguing and I might listen again when in an experimental mood
This was a great album from start to finish. I enjoyed it more than Whote Blood Cells, which is why I’m giving it a 5 since that was a 4
It was a fine album overall, but I wasn’t left with a strong impression. I felt to how I felt about the Kraftwerk album
I went in expecting I’d like this one, but it left zero impression on me. It wasn’t bad but I don’t remember it at all and I listened twice
My favorite hip hop album I’ve gotten from this list so far. I’m going to have to go back and listen to the extended version
Absolutely solid. I prefer Are You Experienced slightly more, but an amazing album nonetheless
This was a really enjoyable pop album. I ended up listening to it twice and it has plenty of hits. I’m probably going to throw it on every now and then
A pretty good album. I enjoyed listening to it and it has some great songs, but it’s not a favorite of mine
