Lost In The Dream
The War On DrugsThis album took me somewhere. Soulful and deep. Grateful that it was my first album of this challenge.

I don't know if I've ever truly sat down and listened to Billie Holiday. Of course I know the name and probably some songs, but never consciously have I sat down and listened to her. I can't stop looking at the album cover--I can picture it on vinyl. I can close my eyes and disappear into a different period of time. I also, can't help but think about what her life as a Black woman must have been like in 1958 when the album was released.
Feels very much like the classic rock I'm assuming it to be. Enjoyed it, but probably don't need to listen again. Did add one song to a playlist.
What a wonderful album.
When this one popped up I was a little bummed. Apparently I had a specific image of Alice Cooper. I truly enjoyed this album.
This album let me be someone else for a while. I'm sure that wasn't the intent.
Very nostalgic of "oldies" that I've listened to. Never heard of her though. Different times I know, but girl sing about something other than men.
So peculiar. I kept thinking that I didn't like it, but then I REALLY did like it. I will absolutely listen to it again. It took me somewhere else.
Maybe not something I would have listened to without this challenge, but there were parts that I really enjoyed.
I love that she sings in multiple languages. Really enjoyed this album.
A lot of feels. I feel as though I can feel what he does in this album. I do appreciate raps close ties to poetry.
I enjoyed this album. I didn't love it, but I enjoyed it.
I LOVED this album from the moment it began all the way to the end.
Loved this album! I wasn't expecting the Vikings theme song to kick off an album on this list, but it is a good song...you never know.
Such an iconic start to an album--lets see where it goes--like how much do I know? Obviously I know AC/DC. There are moments when it sounds like riot grrl to me--I guess that's kind of a backwards way to look at it. I ended up not recognizing a lot of it, but I did enjoy the album.
I didn't know what to expect with this album at all. The first song I thought, "this sounds a lot like Santana, was Santana considered blues?"...its because Santana collaborated on the song. Great album.
I’ve tried to listen to Björk before. I always thought I’d like her because she is unique. Traditionally I feel like she is just “too weird” for me. But this album was palatable. I would absolutely listen again.
This might be the first album in this challenge that I have actually sat down and listened to in its entirety.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this...obviously I know the name Stevie Wonder and I recognized a few songs.
I had heard of Purple Rain and Prince...because I live on this planet, but i had *never* listened to the album and I think I only knew one song (When Doves Cry). Super enjoyable.
Rocky Horror vibes. Wouldn’t listen again though. I liked some of it, but there were songs that I wanted to skip a bad!
Love this album, of course. I forgot how much I liked some of the songs.
I enjoyed it. Knew one song.
Couldn’t even get through it.
Didn’t love this album at all.
