The singing is not good at points, but overall its a decently solid alternative rock project.
I mean, its jimi hendrix...he's the GOAT
Lots of nostalgia for this one. It's trippy and weird and catchy and existential and hopeful. Love it. Do You Realize is maybe a bit overrated. Still love the message of it.
Its a very imperfect album. BUT, straight up, has some of my favorite songs of all time.
A few meh songs. But the best songs SLAP. It's so apparent how influential Nile Rodger's production is here (I realized the first songs was sampled by Will Smith). And despite being way too overplayed, relistening made me realize that "We Are Family" is overplayed for a reason: by itself, its so fun.
I didn't want to give this one star. There are 1-2 songs that are actually good. And I really appreciate the desire to be as weird as possible...but I did not enjoy this at all. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. I understand transgressive art is needed sometimes but I do think the last song is in very bad taste. This sounds like what it is: a bunch of wild dudes on drugs trying to be as weird as possible.
Totally weird. Songs cut out unexpectedly. Droning jams are contrasted with ukulele. It's awesome.
