1001 Albums Summary

I really wanted to love this album, since The Cure is one of those bands I’ve meant to check out more for years. Unfortunately this one was a bit of a chore to listen to, just a bit too repetitive and monotonous. Most songs start out well and have potential but don’t seem to go where I want them to… A couple too many times I found myself waiting for the song to end half way through. This is a pretty generous 3.

It took a minute but I ended up enjoying this album a lot. Decent bit of variety in the tracks and fantastic songwriting. I wasn’t very familiar with Jeff Buckley before this so it was a shame to learn about his tragic death. I think he would have done a lot of amazing things had he not died so young. Standout tracks: So Real, Lover, You Should’ve Come Over, Dream Brother

Gotta be one of the best debut albums ever.
