Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Mar 07 2023

The first album I remember owning "buying". One of my first days in Anchorage as a kid, my mom and I went to the mall and I picked up a walkman and this CD and fell in love forever. I own it on vinyl and I think I'll play it today (3/6/23).

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Mar 10 2023

I think I've tried several times to get into this record through the years... I definitely don't dislike it, but to me, there's very little glue holding the whole thing together. That being said, 'Frontier Psychiatrist' is a certified ripper.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Mar 13 2023

The hits hit, and most of the others miss... For me, anyway.

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Mar 14 2023

I was admittedly not into the album at first... I've only ever been familiar with Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (who hasn't seen that album cover at least once?). Was walking in the rain while listening and it just started to make sense to me. Notable tracks - 'Buggin', 'The Gash', and 'Sleeping On the Roof'. I'll definitely be listening again! This album made me finally understand the brilliance woven into the fabric of this album.

Dog Man Star by Suede
Mar 15 2023

Could see myself putting this album on again. This album definitely didn't need to be over and for long... Come on. Vocals sounded like a call back to early post-punk U2, while some songs sounded like the boring tracks off of U2's 'Joshua Tree'.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Mar 16 2023

Boy, did I enjoy the hell out of this album... I've heard the hits over the years as the husband of a self-proclaimed "Swiftie", but the deeper cuts were almost as great, if not better.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Mar 17 2023

Not in the mood for it but I can acknowledge and appreciate its place.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 20 2023

Never been into Hendrix. This playthrough did remind me that he was a shredder but I'm not much for blues rock and the drums always bothered me...

Woodface by Crowded House
Mar 21 2023

Not really into this 😬 'Don't Dream It's Over' is an undeniably great 80's song, and 'Something So Strong' was another hit by Crowded House hot on its heels. Sorry, Crowded House... I love you, but this album ain't it, dog.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Mar 22 2023

Love the clarity and punchiness of the hi-hat, bass drum, and snare. Great production overall. I've got a couple J5 CDs tucked away but this one slipped past my radar; really pleased with Power In Numbers.

Synchronicity by The Police
Mar 29 2023

I grew up with a good grip of these songs by way of the greatest hits CD being played during my childhood. I'll happily take any excuse to hear Stewart Copeland play the drums!

Mask by Bauhaus
Apr 13 2023

Am I crazy to suggest that I hear some Dead Kennedy's influence in this? Vocally on some tracks, and a little East Bay Ray spice, elsewhere. Black & white cover with yellow font...

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Apr 14 2023

Straight forward Fagen, not great and not horrible... 🤷

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 17 2023
To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Apr 18 2023

Huge Kendrick fan, since his early EPs & mixtapes.

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Apr 20 2023

Ramones inspired riffs (some are straight up lifted), but fun songs, nonetheless.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Apr 24 2023

Love how much the bass stands out in the recording... First time playing this all the way through and wish I'd done it sooner.

Brothers by The Black Keys
