Harvest by Neil Young
Mar 23 2023

this was a pretty low vibrational experience for me because I had to listen on YouTube music on a mobile browser, sucked, also I was having a terrible day sorry to neil for not giving this album a second chance while I was cooking my mung beans but I would have had to keep my phone screen on so the music wouldn't pause which is dumb as fuck. the 3 or 4 songs I listened to were alright but I really like Crosby stills Nash and young, and this album was nowhere near as good as their music to me

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Mar 24 2023

this album is conjuring smells from a buffet I ate at as a child. meat loaf is an appropriate name for this act. the cover is sick as fuck and I don't think it matches the music I liked bat out of hell but I don't think it needs to be ten minutes long. the fact this album has 9 songs and is an hour long is insane, also 2 are unplayable so I think it may actually be longer.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Mar 26 2023

this feels like an alien ship is beaming information straight into my brain. 3 stars

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Mar 27 2023

I'm into this, I think they have some cool elements that balance the sugary poppyness and their Spotify says that there's 2 metal guitarists in the band which shows a little in heartbreaker which may be my favorite. the horn solo is cool

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 28 2023

this was very much an album experience. I like when they go hmmmhmmhmmm

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 31 2023

always been very close to my heart since a bunch of these songs were the first things I learned on guitar as a 4th grader

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 01 2023

GODDDDDDDDDD this is so good harry seems like he would have been fun to hang out with. after this I started listening to the Popeye soundtrack, and all his demos are really fun. I love his voice

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Apr 03 2023
Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Apr 04 2023

I love the backing vocals and the songwriting. really good work vibe. favorite track in first listen was won't you give him (one more chance) and my least was cant nobody love you just because I'm so used to the zombies version

Vespertine by Björk
Apr 05 2023

fairy in the forest vibes, going around to my daisies and bluebells and checking out which lady bugs are where, the bees are gathering enough pollen but there may be something sinister afoot in the cave nearby

Apr 06 2023

in another life it is me and my trusty horse or maybe a mule, my bedroll strapped to his side and we're outlaws roaming the entire west, posting up by a nice shady tree every sunset to make a fire and set up camp. i am going to collect nuts and berries and shoot a rabbit or some shit with a bow and arrow, and sometimes a gun i find on some dead guy until it runs out of ammo and it's just dead weight. we are running from the law for some petty crimes and maybe also accusations of witchcraft. i'm learning how to make really good rabbit confit and jammy berries on multi-zone fires with a cast iron pan that i made myself with the help of a friendly old smith from the last town i was in (i will end up settling down to become a smith eventually for a bit before i go back out to roam and eventually die in a river where i float all the way to the ocean) it is so funny that this guy's spotify picture is him looking like a pastor

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Apr 07 2023

I don't like this very much but it's okay but I'm just not really into it

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 11 2023

billiards playing music

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Apr 12 2023

kate bush would thrive in 2023. I think major attributes of her style have kind of circled back multiple times (there goes a tenner is reminding me of marina and the diamonds) the screaming in get out of my house is cool

Brothers by The Black Keys
Apr 13 2023

another mega nostalgic one. feels like 8th grade. i think 10 cent pistol might be the best song on this album this band is just so good and I love that it's just the two of them. Dan's voice is perfect for blues

Apr 14 2023

cozy. sometimes I extra remember that i almost never really listen to the lyrics. I wonder what he's saying

Bad by Michael Jackson
Apr 15 2023

enjoyable, I love man in the mirror. I can't stop loving you was giving Disney but I think that's the influence of Phil collins/80s keyboard

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Apr 16 2023

this is fine I guess I don't really like when she makes her voice all choppy. seems like maybe it was trendy in the 80s and didn't really stand the rest of time

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Apr 17 2023

listened to this on a sunset walk around the neighborhood next to the sun and sail club and felt like an angsting teenager great experience

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Apr 18 2023

i guess this was probably the blueprint for indie folk but i felt very medium about it

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Apr 20 2023

what a progressive name for a band this old. what's the genre? butt rock? that's what I thought it was going to be but this is really pleasant country, I do keep thinking they're going to be singing about weird stuff but the lyrics are just normal. strangely regular. another really fucking sick cover photo. not on this album but they originally did wild horses, I didn't realize the Sundays were covering it and I hadn't even listened to the rolling stones version. anyway I think I love them

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Apr 21 2023

This is another one that's good and I think was probably really influential but it's not moving me in any crazy type of way

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Apr 22 2023

this cover is so good, I love that al green is in green slime letters and the face he's making is kind of silly. this reminds me of Christmas because growing up we had a couple Christmas albums that I think he sang on. really good working music, nothing stood out super crazy which is a pro and a con. very very cozy

Apr 23 2023

I didn't know this album existed before, I like the cover and it reflects the sound pretty well. can hear some clear Beatles influence in here and it tracks that this is them at their youngest, figuring out their sound

The Slider by T. Rex
Apr 25 2023

feels like rockabilly I don't know if that's correct but I kept being reminded of that Johnny Depp movie Crybaby

Quiet Life by Japan
Apr 26 2023

this just felt like 80s noise like I was in a grocery store, to be fair I didn't listen very close but I didn't really feel a desire to

The Yes Album by Yes
May 02 2023

they got a little sauce and pizzazz

Blue by Joni Mitchell
May 16 2023

instant 5, cool how clear the lyrics are and I like the way the melodies wander. I didn't really like little green

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
May 17 2023

i like the vocal twang in punk this mixes nicely. giving Elvis gone wild. this controlled chaos is the kind that smooths my brain wrinkles in a pleasant way and makes it so I can work. Fuck Shit Up is fun but the dissonance not really helping with brain smoothing, reminds me of the SpongeBob scene where Squidward is in the fuuuuutuuuree

Eternally Yours by The Saints
May 24 2023

more biker bar music except this feels like a biker bar scene from a musical. memories are made of this did not age well

Tommy by The Who
May 26 2023
May 30 2023

this is a mid 00s phase that I wasn't in and it makes me feel like this 😐 it's like death cab but more boring? mostly I feel nothing

Faith by George Michael
Aug 15 2023

is this Christian pop? but about sex? I get tired of this sounds after a couple songs, it's kind of tinny and top heavy but I liked the slower/more vocal centric songs more

Step In The Arena by Gang Starr
Aug 17 2023

my favorite track on first listen was check the technique. I liked how chill this was and it's always funny hearing old slang in rap. loved

Synchronicity by The Police
Aug 21 2023

feels like they discovered bongos and it exploded their brains. kind of wild how they chucked Mother in the middle, it's so wildly different from the rest of the album

Mar 05 2026

Instant classic, I had only scratched the surface of outkast before this. Spread and Draculas Wedding are my favorites and right after listening to this I played spread in the car incessantly. you'll notice I havent rated an album in 2-3 years and that's because I was listening to this that whole time
