All That You Can't Leave Behind
U2I just don’t like U2.
I just don’t like U2.
I really enjoyed the astral feel the keys brought the album. i’m not a big jazz fan, but this is top notch smooth. In a silent way starts in a completely different genre until the keys come in. very blues-y with a modern feel. this album feels timeless.
Fun punk sound. Every song oozes with youthful energy without the punchy, snarling aspect of The Ramones. In fact I’d hazard to say it has a bit of surfer rock in its sound. There is also some New York Dolls in their sound. As the album drags on it becomes a little repetitive with its song structure, but then again, many punk albums suffer this same fate. In the end I fell asleep in the middle of the listen. It’s just nothing. Filler music in a movie or tv show.
Homework is a good Daft Punk album, but the songs are a bit repetitive. Discovery and Random Access Memory both do what Homework does better. Ultimately, if you want to hear these songs, I’d recommend listening to alive 2007 where the best songs of this album are remixed and integrated with other songs to cut down on the repetitiveness.
First off, I’m just going to say that the “La Grange” groove has to be one of the most recognizable grooves of all time, because I’ve now heard it like three times this week from different artists. Green Onions is a great opener due to this. Rinky Dink continues this trend as a great instrumental track that makes me feel like I’m grooving around a town during a summer afternoon. This album is shaping up to just be groove after groove and I love it for that.
Like if Bob Dylan did country and you haven’t heard Bob Dylan actually do country.
The best Mariah album hands down
My boss loved Billy Joel back when I used to work at a local pizza joint. At the time I hated The Stranger because it meant I was working til close, but now it just brings back good memories
I just don’t like U2.
you can’t like indie music and ignore pet sounds.
Loved it. sounds like oasis meets an early 00s alternative rock band like franz ferdinand or something like that.
There was one song that I enjoyed. Otherwise Tom Waits does the sad working class schtick better and all I could think about was listening to him.
Probably my second favorite Bowie Album. Definitely a continuation of Ziggy Stardust. Life on Mars is that standout imo
Your typical lilithfaire stuff. Inoffensive to the ears, but it never moves beyond memorable musically.
Classic metal. The title track and the closer were stand outs imo.
Pretty typical 90s rock ala hootie and bnl. However there are moments where it sounds more indie like the eels or late 90s radiohead. Def. an influential sound.
Raw, powerful. slips into some classic metal licks, but for the post part it stays ever pursuing and angry.
If I ever want just like mario music in the background - this is the album.
what an amazing dylan record. one of my favs.
When I was 6 years old my parents got me toe jam and earl for the genesis for my birthday. I fell in love with the soundtrack and often found myself playing the game just to jam to the soundtrack. This album unlocked that memory. 5/5
Such a great album.
