The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Oct 06 2023

Finally, the well known alternative psychadelic Flaming Lips. Iconic album of theirs too, but they ended up doing even better in their next album (*cough* Yoshimi) and is one of my favorites from the 2ks. It's pretty good if you know what you're looking for and what to expect. This album grew on me over the years and is in my record collection as well. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this to first listeners because of this and would've rated this lower years ago, but I can't change the past and you can't control how you feel.

Blur by Blur
Oct 09 2023

Fucking love the 90s. I dont care what you say. "It's not my problem" - Damon Albarn WOOOO-HOOOO!

The Doors by The Doors
Oct 10 2023

As today's youts would say... "Mid". If some of them even know this album or the artist...? Whiskey Bar > Light my fire Wouldn't actively seek this album out but I am aware of it and the band themselves. Just not for me.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Oct 11 2023

The album coming after Rumours... does it live up to the hype? Nah but it's alright.

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Oct 12 2023

Jay Z makes it E Z. Reasonable Doubt > Blueprint, but he also isn't a go to of mine personally.

1999 by Prince
Oct 13 2023

Classic Prince and the album I personally connected with when I first heard it. Funny that this came out in the 80s, but I like the 90s, and this is still my favorite Prince albums. I'll take his advice to heart, party like it's 1999.

Oct 16 2023

Blind album and artist. Don't really have a lot to say except it's different than what I normally listen to.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Oct 17 2023

Easy 5, classic hits. Napoleon Dynamite is responsible for me discovering this band and album. I'll never forget the day Jack White told me to "fuck off" after I saw him live. I kinda deserved it for bringing this album to a Solo (Jack White) show and waited outside the venue, and didn't buy VIP meet n Greet, and security already told me to leave but it was on the sidewalk in public...

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Oct 18 2023

A band I discovered way too late when exploring the 90s... Another classic, but I would not recommend to 1st time listeners. This band is always an afterthought but their music is still great to me.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Oct 19 2023

Blind album and artist. World music ain't for me. Has some catchy parts but could not get through it.

The Predator by Ice Cube
Oct 20 2023

Know the hit, never actually dove deep into the solo works of each member of NWA aside from Dre, Sorry Ice and Eazy E... prove me wrong? I thought the lyrics were great here, and I Learned he was the main ghostwriter for NWA which is pretty cool. Explains why I like them... Overall a solid 4 I'd say.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Oct 23 2023

5. Flawless and prime example of excellent writing and growth from an artist. RIP Chris Cornell

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Oct 24 2023

Never understood the appeal for this band or album. But they are great artistically.

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith
Oct 25 2023

HELL YES, my favorite Aerosmith album. Toys is a classic opener, the Hits go hard, and I can't wait to see em live in January. Hopefully Steven doesn't hurt himself again screaming too loud before the show.... Dudes got froggy lips, a big mouth, and can scream like a psychopath.

Oct 26 2023

Know the artist from another album, the fat of the land, but not this one. I prefer the other album.

Close To You by Carpenters
Oct 27 2023

Blind album, know the artist. Exactly what I expect from the Carpenters. But never was a fan personally.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Oct 30 2023

Blind album and artist. I guess this is one of the albums from the modified list up to I wanna say... 2018? I recognize the 2nd track actually, don't know from where though. This album is alright and catchy for the most part. Bit repetitive getting near in the middle. The 2nd track stuck out for sure.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Oct 31 2023

Not the best album of theirs but I do appreciate it and the style. Definitely another good project with Jack White.

Nov 01 2023

Another Ice Cube album... would prefer some more diversity from the random album generator. Pretty sure this is the his 1st post NWA solo album. Definitely hear the influence and classic Ice. Not his best but decent.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Nov 02 2023

Blind album, know the artist. Very prolific. I surprisingly enjoyed this album more than I thought and I don't know why... it's was just all around great. Soothing and well rounded. Simple songs that show a lot of emotion and feeling.

Smokers Delight by Nightmares On Wax
Nov 03 2023

So I surprisingly have seen this album cover before, but I never listened to it or even remembered the artist. So going in blind... I definitely see the appeal of this album, but it is NOT a go to for me. I think my ears almost fell off my head from all the bass. Definitely guilty of skipping a few songs and jumping around the album. But the style and influence is there, just not for me.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Nov 06 2023

Happiest Days -> Brick Pt 2 giving me the goosebumps to this day. Comfortably numb is a classic. What a concept album... Hot take: this is THE superior Pink Floyd album. Not dark side, not division bell, not quite animals, wish you were here is close....

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Nov 07 2023

I bought this album and then I sold this album. Never cared for it, not a fan for some reason.

Femi Kuti by Femi Kuti
Nov 08 2023

It's funky but I have no interest in seeking this album out again.
