1001 Albums Summary

Great! Mostly new to me.

Not all of us like punk or can discern prog rock from punk. Not my tipple.

Soulful, but overall a little too soulful. I can see why most of the tracks never made it to the Top 40.

Not quite the breakthrough it was then, but still powerful after almost 40 years.

I didn't like it in 2001, but it has grown on me. I guess that's the sign of a classic. But it's also showing its age when compared with more recent rap.

Wildly diverse, it combines elements of pop, rock, techno and bravado.

Other bands took the musical techniques of grunge and made good music with it—Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, and Alice in Chains, for example. This is just raw stuff that never got transformed into art.

Interesting album with a few good tracks, but not up there with the best of its era.

Not good. Kind of a mashup of punk, grunge and rockabilly, it was a mess.

That was fun. Made me want to dance.

Deplorable.

No extra stars for historical importance. What counts is how it sounds today.
