Bat Out Of Hell
Meat LoafClassic rock opera. Prog metal, lots of fun and a bit of a journey but probably won't revisit to listen again in a while.

Emotional, character-driven bar rock. Very raw. Good folkrock album but not my favourite.
Classic rock album, very deep album. Not really my thing but definitely relevant to the time and genre.
First album that I haven't previously heard. Very nice atmospheric gothrock. Nice to space out to and I can see myself listening to this when I want to chill out sometime. Good listen.
Not the biggest Metallica fan but at the time incorporating metal with an orchestra was a big deal and something that a lot of bands eventually strived for in their peak/finale live show type of setup. For that it's memorable on its own. I don't think the orchestra adds anything specific to the songs other than this sort of faux pretentiousness of other forms of music recognizing metal as a valuable genre like so many seem to seek out.
Can see where they'll eventually end up but this is still early on and a bit rough. Poppy, fun, but not much more than that. Not sure why it was felt necessary to include *every* Beatles album in this list.
Nice, gloomy folk album. A bit one-note through its runtime and I didn't like the repetitive nature of Elvin Presley Blues. A nice listen and something I hadn't heard before.
Classic of the genre and of Elton's catalogue. The first half is an incredible accomplishment of poprock featuring songs which have endured for fifty years. Upbeat and a great combination of piano and guitar. Classic.
Not my favorite by Common and not my favorite in the genre. He has a good message as always but never really liked him a ton.
Slow-burn '60s rock outing. Not my favourite.
Dream indiehazepop from the late 80s. I've been more into this sort of genre the last few months so this is a welcome album to listen to.
50s-by-way-of-80s new wave pop. Consistent throughout and it's a lot of fun.
Not my thing and a bit repetitive early on.
Gloomy 80s post-everything.
Classis rock album, first few songs are very classic but the album fades a bit half way through. Good, not great album.
Very raw live performance from an iconic performer at an iconic venue.
A nice, calming listen late at night. Nice guitar, good occasionally electric fuzz. Newage African chillout.
A nice ambient album with some great synth, but I wonder if there are better ambient albums to be found to be included on this list...
Meh. I don't see why it's necessary to include *every* Beatles release in this list. Some of these olders ones are still very rough and not indicative of what the band would eventually become.
Poppy chillout. Not my favourite but it's good for the right mood.
Another bubble prog rock album that probably shouldn't be included on this list if it were more expansive beyond the narrow scope this list seems to want to occupy. It's a fine album but more of the same, i'm afraid. I have a lot of respect for Zappa as a person, I want to add, but didn't find anything insightful in this album aside from being a fun prog rock affair.
Honestly this is so simple but works really well as background music for work or chores. Sometimes simple can be very effective!
Best part of this was recognizing J Dilla's sample in World Band in the World
Classic prog rock, maybe *the* classic prog rock. Been a while since i've given this a listen. This defined the genre and provides inspiration and guidance to this day.
Fuzzy, popppy rock. A bit dreamy and ethereal.
Not my cup of tea.
Ambitious, trendsetting. It's always great to hear an artist or group fire on all cylinders and that's what The Smashing Pumpkins did here. Just raw output of emotion, musicality, and cohesion. Only four stars because I don't think I will come back to this very often, but a very good project.
Hazy electronic pop. Feels like a warning or foreboding over the future more than anything else. A sign of things to come and surely ahead of its time.
Fine 90s Britrock.
Eh, not my favourite Radiohead it has to be said.
One of my more favourite albums as of late. Great to have on whilst working or in the background. Smooth, consistent, made with care and attention. I'm a big sucker for electronic that is able to see where things are going and almost predict futures that don't yet exist, and this album does that to a T.
It's fine. Not my cup of tea.
Pretty good dreampop/showgazepop album!
Very classic album. Pivotal in the genre and paved the way for so, so many after it. New and rush and dynamic even to this day.
