1001 Albums Summary

This is one of those weird albums. That sounds like a different member of the band did different songs... Definitely a huge 60s vibe. I recognized Lou Reed's voice. And Femme Fatale is the first track that I recognized.

My appreciation for punk has increased over the years. I like this stuff.

So many thoughts come up listening to this album. Jerry Lee Lewis was huge when my dad was a kid and I imagine him loving this music. I also want to look up why Hamburg was the hot spot for music back then. I grew up in Germany as an American military brat and I bet it was a blast hanging out in Hamburg in the 1960s.

Heart of Gold, Old Man, There's a World, Alabama, The Needle and the Damage Done, are absolute classics. What an album. Raw. Real. Lovely.

One song was super screamy. Several good ones. Great guitar and the lead singer's voice is unique.

That first song suuuuucks. Master of Puppets is good and so is Welcome Home. I like the more melodic stuff but the grindy tracks are annoying. I appreciate the political message of a few of the tracks. I only recently figured out that Ozzy Osbourne had some political messages too. Who knew that these crazy thrasher bands could do that stuff?

I don't really listen to jazz and I truly enjoyed this album. A few of the tracks had trumpet notes that reminded me of a sketch about a bad trumpet player.

Meh. I'm guessing I would enjoy this a lot more if I could see what he was doing. I don't think his singing is that great on this album.

I like the hits. Otherwise, a little too homogeneous for me.

Natural Woman made me cry today. As cliche as it may be, it is exactly how I feel about my husband. This album is amazing and Chain of Fools is a banger.

There are a few tracks i enjoyed. My favorite is an instrumental one called Through Hollow Lands. It doesn't sound like 1977. The version I listened to on YouTube music was a 2004 remaster. Sounds more like 2004.

Fucking terrible. The second track is over the top dirty and just dumb. It's hard to take this seriously at all.

Looooved this one. So soothing and sensual. Who knew I'd be a fan of Ol' Blue Eyes?

Definitely not my kind of music; however, the storytelling is great.

I'm a fan of rap but not necessarily of this kind. I love the political messages. Chuck D. Has a unique voice. He could be rapping about sunshine and rainbows and still found angry.

This is the kind of hip hop I like!

Too much screaming

Some classics on this one.

Enjoyed the singles and a few others. The screaming ones bugged me.

Never listened to this artist before, but I enjoyed her quite a bit.

Don't worry about the government is great

I don't get it. Who cares how great the lyrics are if you can't stand how the man sings?

Tiny Dancer and Levon! Indian Sunset is a bit problematic but he rest is also good
