Lines on my face was a bit of a banger. The rest of it was pretty easy listening, some jazzy guitar, mild bops, but didn't blow me away. Decent recording for a live album, wasn't that annoying. Fine bkground music basically.
I find Alex Turner's voice annoying and this album is meh, same old. Not for me. More likely to listen to Peter Frampton again tbh.
I'd give it 4 for Sunday Bloody Sunday alone. That said I think I started too generously with Peter Frampton, and now my scale is a bit fucked. This is Suzie btw, I'm not sure what I've done with my name...
I remember my brother having this album and loving it. It's a lot funkier than I remember and I'm into it. Did a lot of toe tapping to 'If you have to ask'. Loved the funky guitar in 'I could have lied'. Nice to listen to some RHCP back catalogue. Also quite liked the fact it was a longer album with lots of tracks.
So hard to know whether you genuinely like a song or just like its familiarity. I gave under the bridge a reload, and it made me wonder whether I'd do that if I didn't know it so well. FOOD4THOUGHT.
I really liked the last track 'Castles Made of Sand'
Probs my fave album so far... (Of four)
It's a high 4/5.
Dafuq. Too weird and kooky for me. The amount I enjoy moaning and screaming in real life is the amount I enjoyed this album. Deliberately stressful and I'm not into it.
It was hard not to vote it 1/5 before finishing listening, but in the spirit of being open minded, I finished the album before reviewing (but still gave it a one). If you could vote it 0, I would.
Gorgeous voice. Some beautiful songs, but didn't grab me. Maybe a 2.5. I feel like I need to listen again as it was very background music!
I liked this more than I thought I would. It felt pure 90s and v nostalgic. Susan's House was a fave, toe tapping.
Didn't realise Paul wrote Maybe I'm Amazed. I actually thought album on the whole was fairly forgettable... Maybe I need to listen again but didn't grab my attention whilst I was working away.
I loved this album as a teenager and still love it. rediscovered tracks I'd not listened to in ages and reminded me of iPod times when I had a few of these tracks playing on repeat.
Loved this. Also love discovering where something's been sampled from like sith Taj Mahal. I cooked a stew to it and I think it helped make it tasty. Really enjoyed having it on.
Enjoyed it! But didn't think it was their best. I would give it a 3.5...
3.5. some great classics, but didn't love any of the album tracks I didn't already know.
Actually much better than I thought it would be.
Great background music for working. Would stick on again.
Not really for me, I don't love jazz but could see why jazz heads would enjoy it. He should defs ditch the first track though.
Enjoy Steely Dan so enjoyed having it on in the background, but didn't catch my attention in a big way. Wouldn't say it was a stand out album, a few mild boos only. Probably enjoyed the first couple of tracks more than the rest. Not going to go out of my way to listen to it again.
The singles are unreal from this album - Music and Dont Tell Me especially are both still bangers in their different ways. I definitely don't like or love all tracks on the album, bit of a mix bag but interesting all the same - prefer the slower ones like I Deserve It and What It Feels Like For A Girl rather than dance tracks.
Nostalgic, but not my vibe.
