Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Dec 03 2023

I love this album, the instrumentals are amazing and the composition of the hardness and softness of the music feels very intentional to me. Spaceboy is giving David Bowie. Cherub Rock - lovely guitar riff and 10/10 opening notes. Cannot discern the lyrics but the guitar after the 'let me out' slaps so hard. Very punk rock. Quiet - very angry song. so passive aggressive I'd say but very cool instrumentals. And that part when it builds up at around 2:02 is fucking amazing. Today - lovely opening. Was not expecting the drums to come in. This song goes in so many unexpected melodic directions. Love how the drums. suddenly go soft and then suddenly come in again. The singer says "Today is the greatest day" but does he mean it in a happy way or a sad way? Hummer - not a big fan of the opening static. But when the guitars and bass come in its fucking cool. The instrumentals seem so similar on all the songs at first listen. Beautiful towards 3:30. I love it when the song goes soft before "Ask yourself a question." Such a power move to end on the lyrics "Do you feel love is real?" Soma - absolutely beautiful. best on this album i think. Geek U.S.A. - kind of disappointing after Soma. All over the place. Silverfuck - First heard this song while wrapping a crepe bandage around my ankle and I felt like a god. Sweet Sweet - Something has changed inside me. I think. Luna - why is this so good. all of the soft songs on this album are fucking amazing. i don't know why people hate his voice. it's very on point with the era i think.

In Our Heads by Hot Chip

uhh not the biggest fan of dance/electronic music so this was not very fun, to be honest i wouldn't even dance to this. this feels like video game music that is super annoying.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Dec 05 2023

feels very like drunk night alone at home cooking pasta in your red underwear (in L.A.) L.A. Woman is such a great song - all members performing their very best

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis

cannot get into it

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Mar 03 2024

the lyrics are so good but i think the melodies in some of the starting songs are just okay. the folk vibes are kinda fun though. in some songs there is some beautiful piano. car on a hill is so good. even the production on this and the background instrumentals are so goood. her voice is like another instrument. down to you - another good, different song in this album. she tells so many stories in these songs. the second i thought was better than the first.

there is a vibe but it is not a vibe that i vibe to, i kinda like Mind over Matter though.
