1001 Albums Summary

a 50% rate of songs still played daily on 80s radio isn't too bad, I guess!

The pastiches don't really work -- the guitar solos on Yer Blues are (intentionally?) terrible. But the rest does, and it's impressive how they're bringing all these new styles to an audience. Parts of the context are not great. While My Guitar Gently Weeps is probably my favorite track out of the entire Beatles discography. Maybe like 4.6/5?

omg, like half of this album's Wikipedia page is about the various mixes. I'm not a big fan of any of them -- it does kinda sound like it was mixed in one day from three tracks on a mixer from the 1970s -- but there are some good guitar solos here.

It's a perfectly fine album, I just got a bit bored by it, and in any other context than 1001 Albums it'd be a 3/5.

The break at the end of Stand! goes so dang hard
