Classic, so good
It had been a while since I had heard to this album, it’s so good. Ended up listening to it a couple of times today.
I was only familiar with the single, Take Me Out, from this album before listening. I enjoyed it a lot, Could definitely hear traces of The Strokes and U2 along with the occasional Joy Division and maybe even a Devo style vocal in one spot. I love the way the guitar parts are different than each other as opposed to playing the same chords/rhythms. It’s like disco meets early 80s pre-synth new wave. Loved it!
Dang, so so good!
This is a good album, I liked it a lot. My only criticism is that it seemed like occasionally the lyrics tended to meander a bit. Having said that the music is great, and there are some really quotable lines. Some of my favorite tunes on the album were Grievous Angel, Brass Buttons (which is very reminiscent of The Eagles’ Tequila Sunrise), Cash on the Barrelhead/Hickory Wind, Love Hurts (yes THAT Love Hurts), Ooh Las Vegas and In My Hour of Darkness. The addition of Emmylou Harris’ vocals on several of the tracks really adds to the experience.
Didn’t think I would like this one at first but turns out I did. Definitely punk but with some metal guitar tones. Some of the guitar riffs and solos are reminiscent of KISS and I even caught a whiff of some Mötorhead vibes on occasion. For sure not all-ages appropriate 😂

Very heartfelt album. Her voice isn’t what it once was but it’s still amazing and you can feel the raw emotion in it. Mood is very low key.
Loved it, the synth sounds are all amazing. Lyrics and singing aren’t always great, but in all fairness, English isn’t their first language, and in an odd way it kind of added to the charm.
I had never listened to Frank Ocean before, I really liked this album. I can definitely hear the Stevie Wonder influence, and the tune Sierra Leone could almost be on Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” album. I did think that “Pyramids” went on too long and that the end of the album slowed down too much, although I did like all the songs, just felt that there could have been some more variety in the feels/tempos on the tail end. Overall though I enjoyed this album very much.
